has anyone enrolled in the inaugural accelerated bsn class that started january 2009? what are your impressions so far?

thank you,

we would not have any problems with this school had they told us about the hesi from the beginning, in fact when they finally told us about it during the third semester we were told that it will not keep us from graduating, two weeks before graduation that is when we found out we were not going to be able to graduate. in their academic catalog there is a paragraph stated that this test was going to be a practice not a test to hold your diploma.

Are they offering you a chance to retake a few of the classes? Some schools that require the HESI to graduate require you to take the last year over to get a second chance at the diploma.

I here yah...A lot of new schools seem to make up things as they go. I'm sure they are doing that to make sure they get their accredidation, but I would not want to be in your situation. I hope you are not one of the ones who's diploma they are trying to hold. If so I would get a lawyer and show them where it states that it is only a practice exam. Goodluck!

these students are not willing to take this test again because it was not part of the curriculum according to the catalog. if anyone thinking about going to this school don't because CCNE was contacted regarding this issue. This school may not be able to get accredited.

So they are offering the students another chance to take it? Why won't they just take it until they pass it, especially since their diploma that's being held has a $30K price tag? I understand that it's inconvenient, but why not take it, pass it, and go get a job? I would probably have contacted the authorities if they said "no more chances, too bad", because causing the school to not get it's accreditation doesn't get them the diploma, and they still have to pay for the $30K "experience". That situation really does suck...

For those who have already graduated from the accelerated BSN program in Remington...how are job searches going? Is it true that because Remington has not yet been accredited by the CCNE, many hospitals aren't looking at Remington graduates for hire?

among the six students who did not graduate because of the hesi, two of them spoke to the president and the ceo and they were told that even if they were to sue the school for breach of contract it will take them months even years and all they will get is monetary damages not their diploma so the best thing for them to do is take the test again and pass it with a 900. basically they know they have breached their contract they don't care. i don't think anyone should go to that school if they can do whatever they want and get away with it.

Hello,

I read all comments, but I have not heard anything from anyone that has completed the program. I would like to hear from someone that completed the program. I am considering applying for Jan 2011.

I'm would love to see the response to she.b.'s question...

most of the student already had a job offer at the Dr Phillip Hospital even before graduation, the sad part is the one who already had a job offer now can't work because of hesi.

Hi ELS4048,

Were you in the nursing program?

yes i was in the program and would never recommend someone to that school. it was a nightmare, clinical sites are all over orlando including lake county, peds and ob rotation were from 6pm to 6am, psych and community rotation are a big waste of your time and during the last quarter i never had to do so many paper in my life especially for gerontology, it was ridiculous. i hope they make some changes for the sake of this school
