Phlebotomy/EKG courses for a soon-to-be CNA

I posted this on the CNA subforum but I really didn't get any answers, and since this place is located in Daytona Beach I figured I would try here in the FL Nurses forum. I'm a hopefully soon-to-be CNA, and I was thinking about doing some phlebotomy and EKG classes to help pad my CNA resume. I found this Caregivers Training Academy link:

on another thread somewhere on here.. they offer EKG/phlebotomy classes in DB but I'm not sure if it's a scam or not. I don't see how you could properly learn to take someone's blood in just 4 hours. Or if it would even be worth it as a new CNA to take the classes. And it says you'll be "state certified" upon completion, but I didn't think there was a FL state certification for phlebotomists..

Hi, I saw yourn post in the CNA forum and from what I know most hospitals will cross train you in those skills once you've been hired. As for LTC, HH, and ALF's, I don't think it's even a necessity. I guess it wouldn't hurt to take those courses, but I personally would not want to pay the extra $.

I'm at Orlando Tech in the PCT/CNA program. The area hospitals around here told my school to drop those skills from the program being that they wanted to do in-house training.
