Orlando Tech (LPN Program)

U.S.A. Florida

Hello! I was wondering if anyone has attended this school for the LPN program. Did you like it? What was the hardest part?? Is it possible to have a normal life while trying to become an LPN??? Im exited about the program but have sooo many questions and would love to have answers from someone that has attended this school??!!...thank you!

yep, we start in the fall!! sooooo thrilled!

at times- in the night class, it could be a little disorganized, but never, ever in the day program.

my best friend and i had a situation that required us to switch to nights 2 mos before our scheduled graduation. there were definitely some transitions in the night class during that time, but overall, the experience was a good one for us. you will learn more than you ever thought you could fit in your brain, trust me. :)

i know of no one that didn't pass the nclex either on our first try, or at 85 questions. THAT is the testament to the capabilities of the instructors.

in the meantime, i would advise knocking out any prerequisites for vcc if possible. you want a's in everything... c's get you politely waitlisted.

go for it!!!

Oh wow...that's awesome!!! August can't get here fast enough!! Did u work during the program? (sorry for all these questions...lol)

questions are no problem. i wish i would've known about allnurses before i started school!!

no, i didn't work, i didn't have to, but i could've if i needed to- i studied very hard, but i didn't struggle for my grades. not trying to pat myself on the back, that's the LAST thing i try to do, but i'm pretty bright. i tend to get extremely motivated, kinda one track mind, if i view something as a competition. which i usually do :) :) :) besides, i had 3 little ones at home and one on the way during the program itself. they let us out for summer break, and i utilized my time wisely... by getting pregnant. hahaha!!! i don't recommend that, btw. ;)

HAHAHA...that's too funny!!! I commend you on being a mother of 4 and going through nursing school...GO GIRL!!!! Yeah I consider myself to be extremely studious as well. It excites me to learn as much as I can...especially within the nursing field. I want to go as high up as I can!! The reason why I asked about working..is because I plan on working part time as a CNA throughout the program. Orientation is at the end of this month and I am soooo excited!!! I feel sooo nerdy! lol

Hi im new to this sign as well. I am going to orientation for LPN tomorrow actually for Orlando tech. For anyone who had already completed the program, did you have any trouble getting in to the VCC fast track i think it is called?. I'm currently still doing vcc pre requisites for my A.A. and A.S i just feel like im wasting my time. Thats why i wanted to start the LPN program in orlando tech. i want to get my foot in the door to the medical field. I than plan to go to vcc for the r.n fast track prgram and get my b.s and masters too. Am i going the right way so far? any opinions??

Hi everyone... I wasn't aware the orlando tech had an evening lpn program? I always heard it was only mornings, can anyone please clarify and verify this for me and if they do, what is the schedule like and how long is the program?:)

Thanks so much!

Specializes in Med/Surg, Tele, Peds, LDRP.

I graduated from Orlando Tech's LPN program in 2005 and VCC's advanced standing ASN in 07. Both are great programs in my opinion.

I plan on going to Orlando Tech when I move to Orlando on the 8th of December. I believe the classes start in January. I'm so excited. I'm moving from Indianapolis, IN.
