Hello everyone, I wanted to find out if there are current applicants out there who are trying to get into the Fall 2014 Nursing Program? If so, have you completed the Kaplan test and interview? I need some pointers as far as the test and I would also like to know how your interview went. Hope you respond :)

Hello, yes I received a call an I did the exam and interview yesterday. The test was a little hard for me. The writing for some reason was the worst part and I'm good at writing. The science was also a bit hard and the majority of it was physiology so make sure you study your a&p. The math was for me the easiest. It was pretty much all fractions decimals conversions and maybe about two or three algebra questions. Not too bad at all. The reading wasn't too bad either. It's basically identifying the main idea etc. as far as the interview went, it wasn't difficult. At first I was extremely nervous but they were good about making you feel comfortable. It's a group interview by the way. You answer a few questions and wrote an essay. Good luck to you! I hope this helps :)

Yes - Im nervous about the math section can u provide some guidance as to what math concepts I should review.

I can't as I will be over at the main campus interviewing. I mostly reviewed fractions. Have beem focusing on physiology for the most part though.

Well u should know how to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa. U should also know how to add subtract multiply and divide fractions...know basic algebra like solving for x. Those were most questions from what I remember.

Hi, I recently interviewed at the Kendall campus and received an email about a week later from Andrea Alvarez (coordinator) stating my credits are being reviewed for transferability? If the pre-requisites are met we'd like to extend you an offer of acceptance to our Nursing program, Congratulations!... Though, this was almost two weeks ago and I haven't seen any update on the VIP page nor an email, or anything by mail. I have also tried contacting Andrea by phone and email numerous times and have not received a response.

Anyone have this sort of experience?

P.s. The only pre-req I was missing was Human Growth which I just finished now in Spring over at FIU. My stats were 3.8 Overall gpa, 4.0 Science gpa, 79 overall on Kaplan.

Andrea was good about returning my emails but about two weeks ago I emailed her regarding a similar problem with my prerequisites so I contacted the department directly where they review the transferred credits and they connected me to her so try doing that. Hope this helps :)

I actually called them about two days ago and they said she was busy to leave a message. I told them I have already left messages and emails, so they said they would send an email on my behalf. Surprisingly today I received an email from Andrea apologizing for the delay and let me know that my credits were still be evaluated but that she can confirm all of them will transfer over, I only need to make sure I had the last pre-req. complete and with the GPA requirement, which is fine since I got an passed with an A. She said I should receive my official acceptance sometime next week.

So if any of you are in this boat, patience is key. It is a lot to process with one or two people doing it. At the same time I definitely know how nerve racking it is when your stuck in limbo.

Yes patience is key because I've been in the same boat but it will all fall into place :)
