Miami Dade College (MDC) Fall 2012 Full-time/Part-time Nursing program

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.

I will start:

I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)

As far as getting info from those Medical campus advisors, it's a MISSION!

They're told not to tell students what they think the students chances

of acceptance are.

If anyone wants info on the selection criteria, it's best to contact

the Director of advisment. She'll break it down for you

better than any of those advisors will. Got to make an appointment first.

hey guys, I'm looking to apply for Miami dade nursing as well but for spring. I was just wondering, do you guys have any idea how good the nursing program is?

thanks, Christy

Hey guys,

I'm looking to apply to Miami dade's nursing program next spring (2013). I was just wondering if you guys know if their nursing program is good?

thanks, Christy

Hey everyone,

I finally took the teas 2nd attempt today.Even though I only improved

my teas score by2.0 total points,

I still feel pretty good about a combined score of 87.04.

Well I guess the wait is on now.

Good luck to everyone!!

Congrats Angel, that is a good combined score. That score is almost exactly like mine.....I have an 87.88.

So I guess it's a month and a half of waiting now since the deadline is officially over.

Hey Christy,

From what I know and hear, it is a good program. However, it may be difficult to get in as there is so many applicants every semester. My suggestion would be to study hard for the TEAS and get a good score in it. A lot depends on that score, as well as your science GPA.

Good luck! :)

Angel,

When you say "combined" score, you're referring to your MDC "competitive score" ?

Let me know!

Thanks!

Thanks for the kudos on the grades :) It was pretty crazy taking them all together, but they were the last classes I needed to apply for the program, so I just decided to do it.

I also applied to all 3 programs. PT is my last choice, and I waiver between the accelerated and the full time. I live in South Dade, so the generic FT at Homestead would be ideal, though if I get into accelerated and nothing else, I'll take it LOL

I'm hoping that we don't have to wait the month- month and a half that others have had to wait, but I know we won't find out as soon as any of us would like. My competitive score is around 87.2, so it seems there are several of us in the same general score area.

Post any info as you get it, especially if you have info from an advisor :)

Yes.....it's your GPA AND teas score combined.

How's your scores gwelltravalle??

Thanks mjl88 !!

It's going be a nail biting month and a half.

Not great. But I'm hoping!

Hey Everyone,

Does anybody know how we'll be notified of acceptance/rejection?

I've read on previous threads for MDC that now they're emailing the students but I haven't heard anything concrete about that.

Hi mjill88!

I asked an advisor the same question last friday and she confirmed we will be notified by email. She recommended checking the MDC email account at least once a day after May 1 just in case things speed up since they give appliccants 2 weeks to answer to the offer, if they dont hear from the students, they give the spot to the people next on the list.

I hope that info helps.
