MDC Spring 2012 :)

Hi guys!

I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.

I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.

So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe

:nurse:

That's right! I took two at the Medical Campus. The Math was really helpful since it's really similar to the one on the TEAS. The Science class is not worth it. I'm not sure about the English.

You can find them as "EDU013" in the MDC website.

Good luck!

Thank you both!!

My weak area is English "/ so hopefully these classes could help :)

Hi guys! I will also be applying for the Spring 2012 (generic and bridge) program on August 31st! :uhoh21: I think it's a little risky to wait until then but i have to retake the Teas exam that SAME day (i took it for the 1st time Aug 1.) I didn't do as great as i had hoped and scored a 71. My science gpa from FIU is a 3.2. Does anyone know what teas score i will need to be "safe?"

I am sooo nervous!! I've read that you need a really HIGH score and gpa to get admitted. :( I just ordered my ATI book because i've read that it helped many people with their Teas.

Does anyone know what scores the average person admitted into the bridge program had?

Thanks! Good Luck to all!!!! :)

Hey there! There's no real way to say what GPA or TEAS level makes you "safe," because every semester is different depending on who applies. I would just study hard and do the best you can on the TEAS and see what happens!

Also, I have no idea about the bridge program, sorry! It seems like the least talked-about program on here.

so i just came back from applying to the full-time program. i took the teas for the second time today and scored 74. not what i was expecting, but better than last time so let's see what happens... :uhoh3:

i asked if my score was okay and she told me that it wasn't reaaallly good, but it wasn't bad neither. she said that there's people applying with 80s (good) and 70s (average), but there's also a couple of 90s (awesome). also, she explained that since there's usually less people applying for spring, there's more chance for us with "average" scores to get in

they will be e-mailing the acceptance letters so make sure to check your e-mail every day after september 1st. there's a couple of medical tests, cpr classes, and a criminal background check that you need to complete before the deadline, which they will provide you with in the letter.

if you are going to take the teas --> make sure to wake up early, have a good breakfast, and do not forget your government issued id as well as your mdc id in case you are going to apply the same day.. (today, 2 people weren't able to test because they forgot theirs).

if you are going to turn in tour application for any program --> bring snacks, your cellphone with full charge (laptops, ipods, ipads too), and be ready to wait for at least 2 hours minimum

good luck everyone! :heartbeat:nurse:

They told me that the acceptance letters will be going out in mid October.

I have to say that when I turned out my application it was very quick. I imagine that if it is taking 2 hours minimum there most be a lot of ppl applying. I just hope that not too many ppl apply with awesome scores. :) But if they said just a couple of 90's I guess we should be fine.

:lol2:

well today, for some reason, they only had 2 advisors and like 50 students lol.. not all applicants, but you have to wait anyway

When you say advisers do you mean the two woman in the front desk? Or did you see someone else?

I'm curious because I only spoke with those ladies. They took my application and said everything was fine. It only took like 5 minutes.

:)

Whaaaaaat!!! Today there was only one lady in the front and she made me wait to see one of the advisors (only 2 today). Then the advisor checked everything :crying2:

Whatever, as long as I get accepted, nothing else matters :)

Oh Wow!!! :D

I'm glad I turned my application before things went crazy there!

Now we just have to wait..even though I have to say that I'm not very good on this waiting thing.

I like to be a steps ahead...that's why I already got my stethoscope, watch, and some other stuffs :lol2:

Hahaha that's cool though! It's good to be prepared :)

I turned in my application yesterday and the front desk lady did all the collecting for me. I cant believe they made you see an advisor! and it's really busy in advisment because it's "registration peak", well thats what the front desk said.

and bad news, apparently they changed the TEAS version of the test, they made it harder, because last time around they received a lot of high scores. this was also told to me by the front desk.

so be prepared future test takers!

on a positive note, i hope spring is our time!!! (fingers crossed)
