Hello everyone I live in Miami, FL and was wondering if anyone knew of an LPN online program offered for CNA's. Thanks!

Unfortunately not!!! Look into your local Tech Schools. Its only a year, and sometimes they waive the first 10 weeks for licensed PCT/CNA

Never that!!...if that were the case we'd have too many..the lpn programs range from ten months to 16 months in miami...i did mine at lindsey hopkins and had a wonderful teacher, im currently back home in ny and plan on moving back south...if i were you i would start from scratch...reason being is because you miss out on alot...your classmates would already feel comfortable with who they are in class with and the instructor would already have a feel for each student...plus the instructors get annoyed when a student comes in during the program...they really dont want to deal with all the things they dealt with when the initial class started...so look around there are many schools...lindsey hopkins is a great program...strict but good,,you do learn ALOT...there is also MDC..sheraton in broward.., mercy( very good program too) and med vance which i have heard is VERY expensive...look around..apply to as many as you can and whoever calls you first JUMP!..lol...cuse t is very competative to get into these programs since everyone and their mama wants to be a nurse nowadays :lol2:...good luck

I was just lurking the boards when I saw your post. I just started the LPN program at Lindsey Hopkins about a month ago. How long ago did you graduate? Maybe I have your old instructor :lol2:

i'd rather pm you on that one due to forum privacy protocol...;)

Congrats on getting into the program. I plan on appling to Lindsey Hopkins and taking the Teas test within the next month. I was wondering if you can tell me how the Teas test was. If you could give me a break down of each section that would be great. And hows the teacher at Lindsey Hopkins? I hear there is a waiting list do you know how long it would take to get into the program or how long did you wait to get in? Good Luck to You and Thanks a Bunch!;)

When I took the TEAS (8 months ago) I had 50 minutes for 40 questions on the Reading section and 70% was the lowest passing score. 45 questions in 56 minutes on the Math section and 50% was the lowest passing score. 55 questions in 65 minutes on the Language section and 70% was the lowest passing score. Have you taken the TABE test yet? I found the TEAS to be easier than the TABE test and the TABE wasn't really all that hard. There was no waiting list when I got in to Lindsey... I took my TABE in Dec, TEAS in Jan, interview in March, orientation in April, and started in May. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Thank you for your response! Yes, I have taken the TABE test and passed. I took it at Miami Lakes Tech, closer to my house, and I can always use the same scores to get into Lindsey, but because of Lindsey's waiting list, I'll probably take the program at MLEC. I am taking the Teas test in two weeks and I am nervous. I am glad you told me that the Teas seemed easier then the Tabe test, the reading section I took was wacked and I am hoping that the Teas isn't like it. Reading seems to be the hardest for me. For the Teas, did you take the on-line practice test on ATI's website and if you did, did you find it simular to the actual test? If you can give me more tips about the reading section I would really appreciate it. I am really afraid I am going to mess up on that section. I have been practicing out of the Ati book and hope it isn't harder than whats in the book.

Hi! I am new to this site and I was wondering since you were on the topic of the lpn program at miami lakes tech if anyone could give me any advice/tips/info/insite anything that could help me, I recently submitted my lpn application in march for the august program but they have not yet contacted me from the school, I call each week and they tell me that they have not yet started sending letters out for the august program but I was wondering if maybe anyone else has been through this waiting process before. I am anxiously waiting to be accepted.. any info would be appreciated :)

Hi, i was just going through the site to find out some info on Ms. Mendoza at Lindsey Hopkins. What kind of teacher is she?

Hi I'm new to this site too and in the process of taking the TEAS and TABE exams and I'm super nervous. I'm trying to get into the MLEC program for April 2010 day classes. My TEAS test is this Thursday! Does anyone have any tips or advice? Is it really difficult? I've been studying through this site I found online and I was doing great until I reached the science portion. It's mostly general biology but I've been taking A+P classes for the past year and I really don't remember much of the general stuff. Neither MLEC nor Lindsey Hopkins says what you need to get in the science section, so I was just curious as to how you guys did on the exam and what you thought of the science part.
