Hi Kiya05tall,

where did you end up going to RN school? I just noticed the date of the OP it is very old!

I dont know much about Keiser, but what if I still need to take A&P1 and 2, can I take it at keiser while in the RN program?

How long does it take to become and RN, and why are some people getting their LPN not RN, at keiser you can get ur RN and not have to do LPN right?

How much does it cost?

How soon can I start if I apply now? (keeping in mind i do not have AP1 and 2)

Thanks!

I have no idea about that. I thought that A&P classes were considered pre-requisites to get into the RN program, not Co-requisites. but perhaps at Keiser is different.

it takes 2 years of school to get your degree, then pass your state NCLEX-RN exam.

People get their LPN as a stepping stone to get to the RN program, as many RN programs are very competetive to get in to.

-- I do not know much about Keiser, but I don't think LPN is required to attend the generic RN program.

From what I read on here, Keiser is $40K for the entire associate's degree program.

I think you should go and talk to an admission's counselor at Keiser to make sure you are 100% on track

Apparently you haven't worked as a LPN in FL.

I have not worked as an LPN in FL, but as an RN who works with a few LPN's. I know where we work they are paid $13/hr and hire them only in the ER.

I have read so many post on this blog about Keiser and its so funny how people try to convince people how the school is so bad....Do your own research and get your facts straight before listening to others. Keiser is a great school...Its expensive, but for me its worth it because nursing schools are so competitive to get into and by the time I get accepted to other school I will graduate from Keiser.

Never trying here to convice anyone that Keiser is a bad school.

Keiser is just an expensive school. I'm sure you get your RN degree once you complete the program. I'm just saying they are very pricey when there are a lot of other options out there.

But as I said in another post, I can totally understand why people chose keiser as their RN school due to the fact that getting into a public college and university is a very competetive thing to accomplish.:twocents::twocents:

Yes, way too much. But, I did graduate with a 4.0 and passed my NCLEX on the first try. I had my license to work as an LPN one month to the day from graduation. I am working and making $21 an hour though. Overall, I have to say Keiser College was a good experience and has taken me one step closer to my goal of becoming an ARNP. I am now half way through the RN program with Excelsior and have found that the foundation I got from LPN school has made the tests bearable.

did you receieve grants and scholarships to pay for keiser? i just met with the financial advisor and he was no help with telling me where to go for grants and scholarships.. any advice?

I have a friend who went to Keiser in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and said that in that campus, there was a lot of cheating going on.

that people would test in "groups" when the instructor would walk out of the room.

I am a keiser graduate from the miami campus, our program is great, really hard and the instructors wont give you even half a point if you didnt earn it, no matter if you will fail for that. They would never step out of the room when there was a test going on and took their job very seriously.
