Is it possible to job shadow nurses in the Orlando area?

Hello, I am a pre-nursing student finishing up my last pre-reqs and waiting for admittance to SSC's nursing program. (BSN- hopefully in the Fall 2014) I am interested in job shadowing a nurse in any specialty to just make sure that I'm on the right track and maybe pick their brain a bit :)

Can anyone give me direction on how to go about this with one of the local hospitals.

Who should I contact at Fl. Hosp, Orl Heath, or the VA.. I contacted SSC's nursing dept, but no help there. I'm not even sure if this practice is still allowed due to liabilities..

I work full time and I'm thinking I might volunteer in a hospital until I start the nursing program since I won't have any classes left to take.. I'm wondering if this might help me get my foot in the door for shadowing??

Any help or info will be greatly appreciated.
