Hi I am going to take nursing prerequisite courses from this summer. There are 9 prerequisite course. Do you have any suggestions about those course. Which courses I should take first, and then? Thank you very much.[/quote']

It depends on where you are in your education. You cannot take science based courses until you are at college level math. So, if you require remedial math courses you'll need to finish those before beginning your sciences. You can take Psychology and Sociology while in remedial math. If you do not require any remedial courses then I would take general education mixed with a core science course each semester. If you don't mind a heavier load then you can take Micro with an A&P as well. To keep it lighter you can do something like College Algebra (or English), A&P, and Sociology (or Psychology). It really depends on how much you want to take on at once. Retaining that A&P information will really help in the program later on though.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. A lighter load maybe better for me. :) Rachanee, When did you send all transcripts to HCC? May I submit transcripts with the application form after finishing prerequisite courses? Advisors in HCC told me I can not register prerequisite courses in Fall semester until they get my transcripts.

If you intend on taking prerequisite courses at HCC prior to being accepted into the nursing program then you have to submit them before you can register. If you are not going take any other classes, then you can submit them with your application for the program.

Hi Cindy14,firs semester was as expected busy busy busy. A lot of reading, studying, busy work, but doable and fun to go thru because of the unexpected. The program is a challenging one but well worth it.
