Anybody applying ...? =)

Congrats Calley!

As for payment, my Pell will hold my classes and pay for books. I'm not sure what everyone else is doing. I'm frustrated that we keep getting differing info depending on who you talk to.

I tried to get books at DM today and they were gone. I'm trying PC tomorrow.

In web advisor does your pell show up "pending"?

No it's accepted. Is that ok? This is the first time I'm buying books from the school!

I can't figure out why mine says pending

What has anybody heard about paying for our classes? (as for those who were selected for the Brandon Hospital WIA program).

I am waiting for a response from WIA they should be having a meeting and I made sure that they needed to know that our tuition fees were due and that I had already purchased books too. I hope to hear from someone this afternoon. I also spoke to someone in Financial aid and the said that it would be paid and not to worry......well that really didn't sit with me... Just wanted to know what others were planing on doing, ie. paying and getting reimbursed or letting it roll and see what they do.

I also don't know what to do. Please let us know if u hear anything.

Calley, I just (today) had my degree audit get accepted. Before that it said pending. Id go to FinAid to see what's up with it.

Thank you, I'll go do that!!

After weeks of getting the runaround w/ financial aid, I was told TODAY that I exceeded the acceptable number of credit hrs and will need to appeal my award. I am sooooooo upset b/c I've been contacting them regularly and was never told this. I went ahead and did TIPS so my classes don't get dropped. For those who got in the BRH program... my suggestion would be to pay your tuition or a portion of it if you can. I was just so worried that I would get dropped, which would cause more headaches later. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that, atleast at some point someone will be paying you for your classes though.

You didn't recieve your financial aid award letter as promised?

I'm just trying to figure out if they've sent me on a runaround similar to yours.

I purchased a Littman stethoscope as well. I can hear perfectly with it! Definitely worth spending a little extra, in my opinion.

For those of you wanting to get a flu shot...they're starting to make their appearance. Publix (only one out of the three near my house actually had them in so I'd call first) and Walgreens are the two places I know of thus far. I paid $30 at Publix.

I purchased my shot at Walgreens for 31 dollars. Seems like they have been distributed around so I don't think anyone will have issues finding one.

Calley, I was informed that I was only eligible to receive Stafford loans -- no pell or grants-- which I was OK with. HCC told me that I would be getting a letter August 10th (apparently, part of the financial aid agreement is that loans must be awarded at least 10 days bf the start of classes... ) It even showed that in my file and the 2 people I spoke w yesterday were confused by the conflicting information?!? I will appeal, and hopefully get something. My CCs can't take all of these initial expenses!!

If you are not in the BRH program and have not yet received your letter, I would call ASAP. If you have appealed but haven't been awarded (I know someone on this forum mentioned that he/she appealed), you may be OK, but I would still call. Best of luck to ya. I truly hope you're not experiencing the same thing ...

Thanks, I appreciate that. No im not in brh but My letter finally showed up on webadvisor, I accepted my loans, pell said pending now it says accepted for fall pending for spring and I just received an email saying they approved my appeal for this one semester, I guess I will be in this appeal process for the next two years. Yay.

I don't know the ten day loan rule but I haven't been physically reimbursed money yet but it does show up on my account.

I hope your appeal process goes through faster than my did, it took an entire month for mine. A month and two days exactly. Good luck!
