HCC Applicants for Spring 2010

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi all, I applied to the nursing program at HCC for spring 2010 and I was wondering if there is anybody who might have done the same thing. At this point I'm extremely anxious trying to find out if I got accepted or how long will it take for them to decide it??? Does anyone know anything???? I appreciate any replies. :uhoh21:

I heard they were planning to postpone opening the Southshore/Ruskin campus but have now decided to open it with 26 seats. Which means instead of the usual 100, 50 at plant and 50 at dale mabry, we're looking at 126 seats. anyone else heard this info?

I've heard about them opening the Southshore campus, but I think I heard a larger number than 26.

Hi,

I applied for the evening/weekend program at Dale Mabry for Spring 2010. Does anyone know how many seats it has? Also, do they just look at the pre-reqs to determine GPA or cumulative for everything? Thanks!

from what i heard it's only calculated on the prereq's: math, english, ap 1 &2, micro, and sociology

Whew.. that's good then, for me anyways! Hopefully we will all hear something soon.

hi everyone! i also applied for spring 2010. i can't believe how long we have to wait to find out. i e-mailed the health science lady and she said that the health sciences committee will not be meeting until september for selection of applicants for the spring 2010 class. i wish they would at least let us know that they received our applications.

Wow, that is a long time to wait. Did you apply for the evening program?

I put a stamped self-addressed post card in my application packet and they sent it back to me saying my stuff was received. I really don't want to wait until Sept!

The wait is borderline torture. I can tell you, in our orientation for the fall class, they said there were 5 applicants for each seat! Also the GPA was the highest ever. So keep your GPA up because it might not get any eaiser!

I applied for the day program. That was smart to send a self-addressed post card with your application. I looked at my profile in Hawknet WebAdvisor and it says "Applicant" next to Health Science Program so I'm assuming that means that they received my application.

wow guys, thank you so much for posting this info! I wish I had done the postcard thing. well off to check my account and see if it says applicant :-)

Very happy right now- I at least have "Applicant / Health Science Program". I hope that means everything is in order per the application requirements.

Many thanks again guys- I felt frustrated that I didn't even know if they received my ap.

My friend just got off the phone with an admissions counselor and they said that they had a record amount of applications this time and will not be sending out acceptance letters until September! I'm so sad about this. I really wanted to start planning and preparing sooner.
