I've been waiting to receive my acceptance (hopefully) letter in the mail and I have yet to get it. According to their website, it was supposed to arrive in approximately 6 weeks from Feb. 1. Its going opn 8 weeks now and I was curious if anyone has got new from them yet.

Thanks! yeah I hand delievered that slip lol. didn't want there to be any postal issues! haha. oh, and if you are already a FSU student, which I"m not so I can't yet, you can register for your classes in the fall. she gave me a list of classes to register for when it does open up, but she also said we will be getting more stuff in the mail and via email in the summer so no worries or rush, our classes can't all fill up because they are equivalent to the number that got in. I asked and she said 331 people applied and 107 got in!

and I don't mind answering your questions. my overall gpa was 3.52 and science gpa was 3.8. I had taken all my sciences (A&P 1 & 2, microbiology, biology, psychology, and human development) except chemistry which I am finishing this semester and was registered for when I applied. I made a over Hesi score of 92. I think that is pretty much what did it. I know my overall gpa wasn't the best but I think the minimum to apply was 3.0. hope this helps!

it is really hard to find information about fsu nursing program. i know it has been almost a year since last post in here, so.. how do you guys like fsu nursing so far.. ??

I am now over half way done with my second semester and honestly I love it. Yes it is very stressful and completely different than anything I've ever done, but I find that I feel FSU nursing is home. I've learn so much and got to do so many awesome things. Of course I have nothing to compare FSU nursing to considering this is the only nursing program I've been in, but from what I hear from others, its pretty top notch. There are always pros and cons to every program and I'm sure none of them are perfect. And at this point I am very stressed with tests and sims every week along with our clinicals and projects...but I do feel it gets easier as you go along. I also have nothing but wonderful things to say about all of the staff and instructors I have had. Hope this helps. Got to get back to studying!

Thank you for replying!! Can I ask you one more question? I've heard that FSU nursing students go to the Jacksonville or orlando for clinicals sometimes. Is it true?

yeah, our pediatric clinical is a weekend in jacksonville. I will be doing that next semester. usually its in the 3rd or 4 th semester. we won't be going to orlando though.

I graduate next month! I am currently at home for 6 weeks doing my internship at a hospital in South FL. I know there are many bitter term 4's out there (they kind of used us as the guinea pigs for the new program), but I loved my experience at FSU. I have done all of my undergraduate studies here. Since we have gone through the program, I think that the term 2's and accelerated class right now are having a really great experience. They altered the original changes in the program after seeing us go through it. I believe they get more clinical experiences early on. Regardless, the bulk of nursing courses are in the first 2 semesters and then your complex care class in the 3rd. Acute and Complex care clinicals are in the last 2 semesters along with woman and child, psych, and peds. The clinicals you do in semester 2 involve nursing homes and one of my favorites, community stuff. You actually get to go do homevisits on your own. I'm sure you could find all the coursework and stuff on the website though. They are actually going to a freshmen admission only in the near future. I'm not sure when that is though (I think it's on the website). Let me know if you have any questions, I'm sure I will have answers. :-)

The pediatric clinical is in Jax at Wolfon Children's hospital....it's AMAZING! You go for one weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) and you stay in a hotel. FSU has 2 clinical instructors there. I just did mine last semester and it was a great experience. No one goes to Orlando any more, that is from many many years ago.

Hi Jess8806- I was just wondering if you were already a FSU student when you applied, or were you a transfer student? I have about the exact same GPA as you, and i'm a transfer, so I was just curious!!! I applied for fall 2011 and I am so nervous!

Thanks :)

Hi, I'm new on this site and have also applied for the Fall 2011 term! Does anyone know what "Not Formally Accepted" means? It appears next to my major on the online admission status. It's so vague!

Thats what it says for everyone until you get your letter in the mail.

Ah, okay, thank you very much!

Called yesterday and the lady said they are mailing our letters last night or this morning, so we should get them this week....ehh! Good luck to you all!
