I am a new graduate waiting to take the NCLEX, (circa 1/15/10), and I am interested in networking with others in the nursing profession in the greater Tampa Bay area--Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Pasco & Manatee, who may be interested in offering occasional advice & informal mentoring to new grads via this site and/or email.
All RNs, LPNs, and Graduate Nurses are welcome.
I am open to any and all suggestions. Maybe something like this already exists within the local chapters of the FNA?
A mentor could be an email friend to ask questions, or grow into a more formal mentor/friend relationship. There is just so much that is not taught in school. Topics could include: professionalism, advocating for the patient, communicating effectively with doctors at 0200, job networking, resume suggestions, unique CEU opportunities, etc.
Strictly professional and collegial; perhaps at some point even social. Please share feedback.
