FAU Traditional BSN Program Fall (August) 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hey there! :) Fall 2015 applications have started for Florida Atlantic University's Traditional BSN Program. I didn't see another thread talking about it so I decided to bring it up. If there is another thread, please link me to it!

To anyone applying to the same term: Have you taken the TEAS exam? I was going to pick up my review book today at B&N. I expect to probably take it twice and hopefully before next year! Where did you guys take the TEAS and how did you do?

I heard the deadline for applications is January 9, 2015. Their website hasn't updated yet from last term.

This is also my first time working with the NursingCAS and I'm still working on my application.

Hi how long is FAU traditional BSN program. Does it really only take 5 semesters? I am now considering FAU. The only downside is that we can only apply in the fall? Can we also only start in the fall?

Hi! I looked at the curriculum and yes I believe it is 5 semesters. For the traditional bsn track they only do admissions in the fall you're right :| If you haven't applied for this fall 2015 program you'll have to wait for 2016. ALSO, after 2016, the traditional program will no longer exist.

If you're looking into RN-BSN, they will accept you for spring, summer or fall.

I read this on the website "After Fall 2016, this track will no longer exist. However, there will be opportunities for FAU students who want to change their major to apply for a position in the upper division curriculum. " What does this mean and why would students change their major?

I looked at that on their site just now. I'm assuming since they meant "upper-division" curriculum, they're saying that FAU students will be able to apply to the Accelerated BSN Program (if you have an Bachelor's degree already) OR RN-BSN (if you already have your license and just want to get your BSN)

I'm not sure why students would change their major but they know it happens so FAU let's them enter their Accelerated BSN program so they don't have to start all over with prerequisites (unless their previous major didn't require all general prerequisites or something)

I also assume that students who change their majors TO nursing realize that it's something they want to do or want to try. I've had a few people say that they're in it for the money and there's a large demand for nurses.

Hello Everyone,

I just found on the FAU Testing Center Site under the TEAS V section for both Boca Raton and Davie campus that if "Now testing for those applying for traditional upper division for Fall 2015 - Deadline extended for FAU until January 23, 2015"

[COLOR=#222222]However on the BSN Traditional section it still states that the deadline to take the TEAS V Exam is 1/9/15.

[COLOR=#222222]Which deadline date is correct for entry for FALL 2015 BSN Traditional the 1/9/15 or 1/23/15?

I may still have a chance to take the TEAS V if it has been extended!!

Hi Cladyluv22!

I just looked at the site! That's great news! I may or may be able to retake it (:

I had a terrible score and I'm wondering if I retake it again, I can raise my score. They will only take the most recent score so I HAVE to do better.

Sadly, I submitted my test scores already to the NursingCAS :| I don't know if I can re-upload the new score. If you or anyone else knows about that, please let me know!

And yes! Give it a shot and take it. This is great news but it gives me little time since I'm currently working full time and I'll be going out of town soon.

Hey guys! I am applying for the traditional BSN track for this fall. I was just reading the last comment and I did not know they took the most recent TEASV score! That stinks, I thought they took the best score.

More importantly- WHERE DID YOU PUT YOUR Z NUMBER IN THE CAS NURSING APPLICATION? I have tried contacting nursingcas a number of times but still no response.. on FAU's website it says in additional information section, but I am not sure where that is. Please let me know where you guys put yours! Good luck to everyone :)

Hey, I am also applying for the BSN 2015 fall track. If you find out where to put the Z number please let me know!

i cant figure it out and im freaking out because i want to send it out! what are you going to do?

hey i just received an email from nursing cas:

The "Additional Information" section that you're referring to is on the 2.0

NursingCAS application. I am not showing you have a 2.0 application. If you are

applying through 3.0 NursingCAS, then in the "Program Materials" section (if

that particular designation has a "Document" section to upload something) is

where you will need to upload the information they're looking for. Please

clarify any other information regarding this supplemental material with your

program.

So should I switch to the 2.0 application? Or should we contact FAU nursing and find out what application they want us to use?

I'm not sure, I just clicked on every possible thing in the nursingcas and I don't see anywhere to put it. Have you tried calling someone at FAU?
