Excelsior Brdige then SPC or USF??

Is is possible to go through Excelsior for my LPN to RN bridge, then transfer to USF or SPC for BSN? I was planning on calling each school to see, but was curious if anyone knew off hand. I really don't have preference for one over the other, I've gone to both and liked both. Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing. I knew a few people who will be doing the Excelsior Bridge but I'm a little skeptical of its accreditation and the chance for transfers.

I would like to think so, but who knows? (And smart of you, may I say, because SPC thinks they're "cutting you a deal" by having a bridge program when in reality they just took out Nursing I & II and then implemented two extra courses in their place --- not saving you ANY money or time.)

Did either of you get an answer from either of these schools. Something bad happened this past weekend, so I now have no childcare on the weekends, where I was working Sat, Sun, Mon at the trauma hospital here in Pinellas and then I'd be going to school at SPC for nursing 3 and 4, so no I'm looking into Excelsior to do my last year of my RN program, but I want to be an NP, so I am wondering if I can use my credits from Excelsior to go any further. It seems like I could because an RN license is what is required for BSN and MSN programs, plus their prereqs, and even most of those can be done online; I actually have all my BSN prereqs done for SPC, but I am also concerned they won't accept me if I do my second half of ADN degree through Excelsior.....Please let me know what you found out? and if either of you went through Excelsior? and did get to go on to another or found out if you could?

I would encourage you to contact both schools directly. I didn't end up going that route, I actually am finishing up the RN program at Galen, but during my last round of clinicals, I was paired with a nurse who had done her RN thru Excelsior and her BSN thru SPC, she was actually in her last semester of the FNP program at USF so I can't imagine why it can't be done. My dream is NP too, but I'm just trying to take it one step at a time. Good Luck!

Well that's promising, and aftet contacting FL BON and them saying it was the only online they accepted I felt better about. And when J've looked into any BSN programs they really only require an RN to qualify, plus preteqs of course. As bad as I need to work, I have made it this far, and I graduate SPCs program in May, 9 months from now, so for me it makes no sense to spend twice as long doing Excelsior's program; my biggest thing other than paying bills and taking care of 2 young children is I want the experience at the trauma hospital, thinking anout NP in Emergency Medici.e as well as my first thought of Critical Care. However, I have made it this far with just 9 months left, so I am going to stick with SPC, and I specifically did their prereqs too, and I have finished those, so if I can just make it this last 9 months, can make way more money when working full-time while doing my BSN at SPC. All clinical sites and other hospitals I have talked to also have expressed great respect for SPC and I love it so far. Matter of fact, I love clinicals, so that's another part I'd miss out on with Excelsior. Right now, I am trying to work something oit where I can do night shift, easier for someone to watch kids while they are sleeping! And childcare will cost less that way, I'll fill commitment of working weekends albeit night shift, and best of all the experience I get just by being in the trauma hospital. At this point, if my childcare is covered and I only break even, with benefits paid for...hopefully also paying a bill or two it's completely worth it to me. Will have to make those school loans last and this facility pays $ for education as well, so if I can get my bills paid and survive last 2 semesters with at least a B I will ne ecstatic.
