Hello everyone,

I recently had an interview with Delray Medical Center for their versant new grad RN training program. I am extremely excited for the opportunity and I hope i get accepted, since it is merely impossible to get a hospital job as a new RN. I have read mixed reviews on delray medical center, including really outdated reviews. Can someone please shed some light on your CURRENT experience at this facility? How much do they pay new RNs? Shift differential amounts? what did you think about the program? Any feedback, including past experiences, would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

I also just went for the interview at Delray for the versant. What did you think of it? I'm a little apprehensive from all the post I've read on here of the horror stories. I'm not sure what I should do.

@ Blownin I think the interviews were okay. Some units had more people interviewing and some units were simply more friendly, but all in all it went well. I got a Job offer from them today, so i am extremely excited!!!!!! Good luck!

I also got a job offer from them. Did they tell you about taking a math test? They did not mention that to me. I would be commuting from Miami as well. I have not decided if I am going to accept the job yet. Did you accept the job?

One thing I am worried about is the high nurse to patient ratio. On the floor they offered me it was 1:7or8

It seems really high to me. ANy feedback out there?

@ Blownin, yes they told me I have to take a medication test and that I could bring a drug book and a calculator, so I am assuming it's a medication calculation test mixed in with some pharmacology :( I accepted a position on the Med/Tele floor (night shift), I dont know if that has anything to do with why I have to take the test, but I was told I have two attempts to pass with I believe an 85 and if I fail both times, then I lose the job offer. I also was given another job offer from another hospital, but I am afraid to turn it down, just in case I run into some difficulties with the med test at Delray (i prefer to work at delray because of the training program and the pay...its pretty good). Im pretty good with med calculations, but I still want to be very careful at letting go of another job opportunity...just in case. Have you decided wether or not you will accept the job offer? what unit (sounds like neuro/tele..i interviewed with them as well and that's what the ratio was for nights).

You are lucky if you have had two job offers. Was the other hospital in Miami? I don't know of many places that are willing to hire a new grad unless you do the versant. I accepted the offer, tele, but I am still bothered by the ratios. I think you are doing the right thing to hold off on the other job to wait and see if you pass the math test.

You have to continuously check their website for the posting. When I called them they said it should be up around nov or dec but the program doesnt start until march. Hope this helps.

Thx a lot. I'll keep on looking.

Hey, how's Delray Beach Medical Center? I applied and hope to the Trauma Step Down. I have 4+ yrs experience and current wk at a Trauma Hospital. I've heard mixed reviews. Hows the pay? What are the ratios? What should I be concerned about? Any better Hopsitals in Boca?
