Cna???

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello everyone!! I am right now currently enrolled in nursing school finishing up my prereqs. I am currently considering getting my cna license and challenging the board. The question is I was wondering if I should take a prep class that would get me ready to take the boards. It would cost me $180 to take this class. My question is do hospitals usually hire newly license cna's?? Is it hard to get a job as a cna in the hospital?? Does anyone know the pay scale for cna's in the hospital??? P.S. I live in Tampa Fl. Thanks In Advance.:loveya::nurse:

The hospitals do hire newly licensed CNA's, I know a couple of women who used to work in environmental services (cleaning service) then got their CNA license then started working right away.

It does help to know someone in the hospital that can recommend you to a manager to hire you right away.

I don't know the pay scale in tampa, but here in MIA is $9/hr

$12-13 for pool positions in Central Fla.

Good luck !

Where did you find a CNA course for $180? The lowest Ive seen is $300. I dont really want to pay that much to earn $10 an hour? I also just finished my prereqs for the LPN program and have to apply in May for august or september for January but in the mean time I need to find a better job that is more flexible with my school. Thanks

I would even talk to area hospitals prior to taking a class. In my area, hospitals hire you without certification.

I found a place called medical prep institute its in tampa..#813-374-2376...they usually have specials going on sometimes its $160 or $170..just depends.

I know hospitals in Jacksonville hire nursing students without any certifications. Just as long as you're in the RN program. You might wanna check up on that... Because there is no sense in spending the money if you don't need to... and being nursing students, we need to save all the money we can... GOOD LUCK!!
