Can anyone give me any insight about Holy Cross, Memorial Healthcare System, Jackson Memorial, or Kendall Medical Center in the Broward, Dade County areas? I am soon to begin travel nursing in April and these are some of the hospitals that were given to me as choices.

Does anyone know how they treat their travelers? The nurse to patient ratio? Or the general attitude of the nurses towards travelers? Any help would be appreciated...Thanks.

In Miami, you must speak Spanish. Your patients will not be bi lingual like you think they should be. I'm originally from Miami so trust me, I do know and also, I'm non-Hispanic and very fluent in Spanish because I learned as a kid, took it formally and can boast that yes, I do speak it. When I go to Calif. for ex., it's super helpful.

I live in Fort Lauderdale. I know all the hospitals in Dade,Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Holy Cross is a magnet hospital. The Nurses are nice but much nicer to local agency than travelers. A little cliquish.

Memorial would definitely be my pick out of all of them. Jackson is in a very unsafe area. We Fl. natives know that the area has seen many a riot out of nowhere. Stay outta there.
