Have been hearing that BC will be requiring math prerequisite and may be dropping Chemistry pre-req for nursing program for students starting Jan 2013. Please post any specific information you have received from the school. I have emailed them but have not heard back. The people on the phone are not exactly sure what's going to happen.

I'm taking a leave of absence for the first three months and after that work about 10 to 15 hours

"Please turn in your portfolio to the North Campus (building 41) beginning 3 December 2012 through 10 December 2012. The portfolio should have the original documents in a separate individual clear inserts and placed in a 3 ring binder. Please insert document copies in a folder and insert in the back pocket of a three ring-binder. Please clearly and professionally identify your binder."

Thats part of an email from north

Norths binder might be different

To avoid any confusion, my post above regarding binders was from Central, :)

wwick13 - I got this email you just posted... but no other like MurseMike posted, no specifics.

Well, thank you. Mine is ready now.

One more question. I know we need to print out documents from Nursing Student Orientation - Broward Health

Do we add that to portfilio, or keep until we start our clinicals?

I went to take a look at the portfolio at North and the offices were closed lol. I saw that it was mentioned, but I haven't gotten anything that thoroughly explained it. That makes me a little nervous. :x So we need to turn in a full set of everything to health science admissions at our campus and a set in the binder? Those sets are the exact same?

A far as I know: one set needs to be in a binder, and another in a folder - both the same. The binder one - those are originals and folder - copies. You need one set of copies also for yourself.

So you need to have 3 sets total.

So did anyone from a campus that wasn't Central get a description of the portfolio? I keep getting scared that I'll miss one paper and it'll be too late lol.

The portfolios do not get turned into health science admissions. We are to turn them into the RN program office in building 41. You can call the program office with any questions about the portfolios. We received a list of phone numbers at the pre-admissions session.

If i have time today I might swing by and check the portfolio at north. I thought I heard we keep the oringinals? and they get the copies but that doenst make sense?IDK

If anyone knows for sure could you post the correct way???:singing:

My printer died today so I just bought a new one. I just bought new ink for the dead one, which is a canon IP90. I have 2 brand new Black ink cartridges and would hate to throw them out, so if anyone has the same printer PM me and I'll give them to you free of charge

I looked today

Its a binder with a folder in the front pocket.

In the binder part each page is the clear sheet that you put individual papers in.Its starts with copy of your med form, original certs (tb/osha/hep,hiv/aids,bls,med errors, dom violence, hcp) in that order, original background check, drug screen.

In the folder you put original med form and copies of cert ,background check, drug screening.

I went to the North nursing office a few weeks ago and they were probably the most helpful people I've ever talked to and they definitely helped clear it all up. They gave me a print-out of what you need, where it goes, and what order to put it all together in before you submit the binder. :)
