    Hi

Congratulation. I just submitted my application for May 2013 and I'm very scared because my GPA is a 3.1. However, I scored high on the HESI. If you don't mind, what was you GPA and HESI scores??
What pre-req have you completed thus far? If you can retake anyone of the classes that may work to your advantage. If your not good in math and not sure about it, then I would recommend retaking a course you did not do to well in.

We're only a few days away from our orientation session. When I RSVPed, I confirmed that there is no required dress code. I strongly suggest bringing a notebook and a few things to write with in case you misplace one. Who's excited? ;D
    Very much!!! (:

    Finally the day is here!

@MsFlo: I was told by the nursing director that if you take a class and your final grade is in, that you cannot retake the same class at any Florida STATE college. Your stuck with that grade. She also told me that if you want to retake the same class to replace a low grade, it would have to be done at a private school and when I looked into that it was VERY VERY super duper expensive!
For instance, I have an associates degree in Civil Engineering, and took every math from algebra up to Calculas II. But BC's pre calc is called "College Algebra" and my pre calc in NY was called "pre calc for engineering students" she let me take the BC college algebra class. Other than that, I would have had to attend a private school since I have allready taken all the maths that can be taken. So I lucked out. Many of my classes were transfer credits, and back then I spent too much time partying and not enough time studying so after taking the pre reqs at BC, even though they were all A's, my grades from the transfer school were not great. Now as I am older, I take school much more serious. When I got rejected last august, my GPA before taking that math class was 3.45? After I took the math class, it is 3.7. Hope this helps you plan your next move

I took and English 1 class in NY about 9 years ago; and I got a C in that course. I would like to retake that class just to bring the grade up. Also, the chart stated that no retakes for the sciences...right? Also get some rest...you deserve it. Let us know how it goes...

I think you could retake it. Ask to have a conference with the Nursing Director. She is ultimately the one with the power to allow you to retake a class. If you need, I can give you her email. PM me.
PS, I to had a C in English, and this is my first language, hahahaha. But I would suggest improving, or, retaking your sciences, ie: chem, maths, micro. Your HESI exam is a very complicated indicator of your English proficiancy (as per the director). Some schools tailor the HESI to anatomy or chemistry. Broward C. doesnt even have chem on the HESI. My cousin in NY, her nursing school HESI was tailored to chem and math. So every school is different when it comes to HESI. BC tailors they're to English because the director said that they noticed students were having a difficult time with all the reading involved, but were great at math.
Good night, think I can sleep now. I'll let ya'll know what happens after the admission meeting tommorrow. Night night

What campus are you attending and why? Mostly due to shorter distance from home or another reason?

Any Miami/Cutler Bay resident attending BC nursing in January? I'm looking into carpooling or perhaps some fellow nursing roommates in the Broward area.
