Have been hearing that BC will be requiring math prerequisite and may be dropping Chemistry pre-req for nursing program for students starting Jan 2013. Please post any specific information you have received from the school. I have emailed them but have not heard back. The people on the phone are not exactly sure what's going to happen.

I offically paid for all my classes at north! :sarcastic: Im afraid ill be dropped for whatever reason, like the orientation lady said shell drop you if you dont have all the classes at one campus.(all mine are for north execpt those labs that are from the email list ,that are tba where)

The orientation lady said there are some must have books before the semester starts, the only one I heard of is the perry and potter book. Did you guys hear anything besides that and to brush up on math for those dosage tests?

That website(Professor Brickmans ) that we were given , has A LOT on it.... Im not sure where to start or what to focus on??

I'm central! Yes I felt the same way!! Lol I double checked

North here, I paid too!

Check NP1... so many books to buy...

Did you start completing your paperwork and vaccination?

I had my vaccination done years ago and have a paper for that... I guess I need to take only a flu shot then and TB test?

Got my fingerprinting, phisical, drug test and background checks done :) now... I am just waiting to submit it.

Too bad that North doesn't have it's orientation ealier. But I guess... I'll just print all the papers from NP1 and drown in them for now... :specs:

I am so excited but scared at the same time :snurse:

Any Central people know if there is another way to take CAE0528, Prevention of Medical Errors as the only class at any campus is given on 12/10, but certificates are due 12/7? Thanks a million!

Take it online. :) That's what I did. Even though the date range says December, I took them months ago and you get the certificate in 2 weeks. Go now and add the online one, wait 24 hours for it to pop up on D2L and take it immediately.

YourSoulVain Rocks! Just did that. Even though the online class, HSC0692 states that the class is for med assistants, rad tech's and dental assistants ONLY, it is the course number specifically given on the handout that we were given at Friday's meeting by our superiors. I guess they have not had time to update the info on the add/drop class interface on MYBC. Or maybe they don'tknow. Anyway, it's a done deal now! Paid in full :) Thanks again and good luck in your classes.

The HSC0692 - preventing medical errors class for online has already posted and is ready to take after paying less than 2 hours ago. SWEEEEEET!

amazon is having free shipping today, I ordered my perry and potter book.

Any NORTH campus students look at Nursing Process Calendars this professors website? It was linked in one of the emails...Im very confused about it. I think it is half old information that hasnt been updated....

Quote, not mine, hope it helps:

"Hi I'm a nursing student at North Campus. I know its stressful and nerve racking to see if you've been accepted. A word of advice if admissions say you'll know by the 15th you will know on the 15th and not a day before. Also if your not accepted don't. Worry they always do a second round of letters are sent out two weeks after the 15th. Many students either defer or decline their seats.

When you do get accepted my best advice is buy the Perry and Potter fundamentals of Nursing book. Out of pocket don't wait for financial aid. Its a lot of reading in the program and if you can get a headstart then ready set go! It will be worth every dollar once you start! Exam 1 covers vital signs, health assessment, saftey, hygiene, documentation and nursing process! Told you its a lot! Get the book start reading you'll be glad you did!!!!! Another nugget of advice testing is not anything you've done before its all critical thinking! Do the review questions at the end of the chapters! :) good luck!!

I am going to north and I was looking at the nur Process syllabus and it says something about the TABE test ... Does anyone know what they r talking about ? And another question what kind of shoes r required for clinical ?
