Hey everyone!

This is a thread for anyone applying for the January 2012 class at Broward college for the generic nursing track. July 16th was the date to start applying and I believe it closes sometime in October. How many points does everyone have? I had to defer my seat so I will be starting in January for sure at north campus! :D if I can be of any help with questions pertaining to getting in or the HESI I will be glad to help! Good luck everyone!!

For the first semester you take nursing process 1 lecture and lab(clinicals), pharmacology, nursing maths and then nursing process 2 and Lab.

HELLO, SORRY THAT I AM TYPING IN CAPS, IM AT WORK, AND I NEED TO HAVE CAPS ON FOR MY OTHER SOFTWARES:rolleyes:. I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT BC NURSING. I AM AT STUDENT AT MIAMI DADE. I AM 20 YEARS OLD AND WORK FULL TIME. I AM DONE WITH ALL MY PRE-REQS. I AM FINISHING UP HSC AT DADE. IT ENDS NOW AT THE END OF APRIL. SO ON THE 24TH I WILL BE TAKING THE HESI AND THEN THE TEAS ON THE 25TH. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW THE HESI WORKS. MY SCIENCE GPA IS A 3.3. I AM ATTENDING MATH PREP TEAS COURES EVERY SATURDAY FOR 4 HRS. SO I'M HOPING THAT HELPS. HONESTLY I'M NOT SURE WHICH EXAM IS GOING TO BE WORSE. I NEED SOME FEEDBACK ON THE HESI, PLEASE!!!! I'VE ALREADY READ HORRIBLE THINGS ABOUT THE TEAS.ALSO, THE NURISNG PROGRAM AT BC, HOW IS IT??? IM SCARED. I NEED THIS SO BADLY, ALL MY SISTERS ARE NURSES, THEY OWN HOME HEALTH AGENCIES. ALL I HAVE EVER WANTED TO BE IS A CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIFE. PLEASE, I NEED HELP WITH THE HESI AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW IT WORKS, AND THE DIFFICULTY LEVEL, WHAT I CAN DO BESIDES STUDYING THE BOOK, AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT WILL HELP ME GET THROUGH THIS... I'm also freaking out about the hesi exam. I hate to ask because I'm sure you're tired of it already but could you be so kind as to email me some info/advice on the A&P portion of the exam? I'm so nervous & feeling pretty discouraged these day with all the negative feedback I've been getting regarding BC's nursing program.

Guys the HESI isn't that big of a deal and is not the scary part. If you have gotten this far relax! The HESI book was very good in my opinion. The math and vocabulary and grammar was exactly like that...everyone complains about the A & P I took HESI liek 5 years after I had taken A & P and I got in the 80's..its not that difficult. You can always retake any section you didn't do well in...people retook HESI like 3 times and got in the program. Just be sure about your campus. I hear North is the best and Central is the worse.

^^^ What GinaRob83 said. It is not that hard. Once you can read and speak proper english you will not have a problem with the grammar and reading sections, if you read enough you will not have a problem with the vocab, if you've taken and passed A&P 1 and 2 you will be fine with the Anatomy section, it's not that detailed. and if you've taken the HCP health core course the maths is basically what was on the math project. If you do happen to fail any part, you are allowed to retake that section, and you'd have seen it already so you would know what to expect.

As far as the best campus for the program, I'm not sure that there is a big difference, I know people who went to each of the campuses and did well, and I know people who failed out of each of them and are now waiting to re-track. At all campuses the program is hard and the most important thing is being prepared. Prepare yourself to be organized if you are not now, start looking at the reading material and testing styles. One thing most new nursing students say is that critical thinking is the hardest part, since it is a new style of testing for most people.
