Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

Does anyone know of any websites that have practice like Hesi questions?

Free Hesi A2 Practice Tests | HESI - Test-Guide.com

This site has a few practice tests for free. I just took the HESI and it was very similar to the questions on the site. I mostly studied from the official HESI study guide and that was very helpful. I got a 94% overall.

I also used Quizlet and a majority of the questions was verbatum from Quizlet..know your conversations, ratios and proportions for Math. I suggest taking Math & Anatomy first and definetely leave the reading portion for last as it takes the longest and you want to be relaxed.

Good luck :)

Thank you soo much. This website is very helpful and the practice test are fun. Thank you

Were the conversion in sentence structure or similar to the study guide? Thanks and best of luck.

I found it to be fairly easy, but I did study so that probably made the difference. Like I said, I used the official HESI study guide and it was very helpful. Going through every exercise and practice test in that book gave me the background I needed to do well on the actual test. You have four hours to complete it and you get to pick which section you do first, second, etc. I did the vocabulary first because I knew it would be easy for me and I wanted to get the easy stuff out of the way leaving time for the more challenging material. There is a calculator for the math, which was a lifesaver because it would have taken forever to calculate manually. The anatomy section was a little more detailed than the study guide, so you’ll definitely want to brush up on that. Make sure you empty your bladder before going in as they do not allow you to leave before you have finished. Really, the best advice I can give anyone who still needs to take the HESI is to practice, practice, practice using the official study guide – it definitely helps. Good Luck!

Conversions were all in word problem form. There were also a lot of proportion problems, some of those were in word problem form also. Nothing too difficult. If you can answer the questions in the back of the study guide, you will do well on the math section.

This is an awesome website. Thanks for sharing!

Is anyone else applying for FAU? I heard it was a very difficult program to get into. Does anyone know if Broward or FAU is better?
