  1. Do you think Broward College Pre's should have change or stayed the same?

      I like the credit change.
    • The preq's should have stayed the same.
    • I think it's great because it helps more students to become prepared for the nursing program.
    • This is just a setup for more students to fail and for the school to get more money out of us.
    • Doesn't matter

Hi everyone, It's been along time since I came on here. I've been dealing with "life". I see everyone is moving along with the Nursing Process. That's Great!!! Well Congrats to all that will be starting or want to start in August. I won't be. However I will be applying for January 2014, and I'm happy about that. This summer I will complete all my preq's for nursing. Therefore, I have a semester to relax or to take a couple of additional classes that can go towards my BSN. I pretty much have made up my mind on what campus I would love to go to "NORTH". I live 5 mins from South, but right now I'm not feeling south campus at all. I have friends who attended south and are RN's now. I here so many stories about the different campuses but for right now I'm considering North. I'm also preparing for the HESI test. which I plan to take in a few weeks. Quizlet and the Hesi Evolve book will work just fine for now. Good Luck to everyone.

Hello Everyone ,

I too, am finishing Micro/ with lab and college algebra and I will take the HESI sometime in April. Then I'll be ready to submit my application for August :nailbiting:. I don't know about you guys, but this is all nerve wrecking and Micro turned out to be way harder than I thought.

Hello everyone ( and the hidden Guest),

I am to in the process of completing A&P and Micro. I will begin my Spring Break along with taking time off from work to focus on one thing, which is this Hesi. I recently purchased the 3rd edition of the study guide and Algebra is included in the Math portion...who knew? It's a tad-bit different from the 2nd one that I have been using.

How far in advance to you need to schedule to take the hesi at broward? Also, how long does it take to get the results? Are the final results sent electronically to broward immediately after the exam is submitted or do you print the results and hand ten in with the application?

To alokiheath...answering your question, they like you to schedule it about 10-14 days before you plan on taking it. The results are printed out to you within 10 minutes of completing the exam. You turn the results in with your application. Hope I helped....

I scheduled my HESI on Jan 24th I believe and I am taking it on April 6th at 9am. My friend just registered for it also for the same date so as long as they have the date available I don't think it should be a problem. Scores are good for two years I believe

Where should I begin...I took the exam. It was 55 questions per section, with the exception of a&p which was 30. For Math, I had a lot of word problems, fill in the blank and conversions. Vocab was very tricky, it had unusual (some words that I never seen or heard of) words in definition and sentence format with a few (just a few) words from the book. Reading had about 5-6 questions per passage (some short and some long). A&P was very random (literally) and tricky. Missed a couple just by a few points, and did not meet the 80% mark. Good luck to you all.

Which sections did you not meet the 80% mark?

Just a little tip that was given to me by one of the instructors that ran the HESI entrance exam, review the Anatomy & Physiology Made Incredibly Easy book along with the HESI study guide, know your household measurements, and remember to breathe. I found both of them to be very helpful (except for the vocab, you need a dictionary for that!).

Keep your head up Juliansmom2011! You've done great so far preparing for this application process and I know you're determined to get accepted. You WILL get there!

The sections I didn't pass was Vocabulary, A&P and Math; and what suck about the 6 month wait is that I won't be able to apply until Summer 2014, due to the fact that I took the exam 03/30 and 6 month will be until September.
