Broward College August 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Hi! This is a thread for anyone applying for August 2012 class at Broward College for the generic nursing track. I deferred my seat so I will be starting in August. I haven't decided if I want to go to central or south yet.. I'm super excited about starting in August! If I could help anyone with anything feel free to ask! :)

Hey everyone! Congrats for getting in to those who deferred and good luck to those who will be applying! :) I am hoping to get into the South campus program for August.

I am taking the HESI on Saturday and I'm super nervous. I've been using the study guide from the bookstore and I also bought a little A&P review book at Barnes & Noble to help me refresh on everything.

I also kind of went ahead of myself and did all of my certifications already lol at least I don't have to worry about them anymore...

Lol you're not the only one! I got all mine done like the week when we had orientation. Hehe I was too excited. At least it'll be one less thing I'll have to worry about :) good luck on the Hesi!
Hello Everyone!I was also accepted for the May 2012 term and deferred my seat till August because of North campus not being available for this summer term. Congrats to all that were accepted and Good Luck to all applying! I already have all my certifications completed and am anxiously waiting till orientation again to obtain all the necessary paperwork for the background check and medical records. When I spoke to Health Admissions last week at North campus she was unsure of when orientation would be, but said most likely around mid July. I'm excited, nervous, and everything in between. Same feelings I had when I was going through the application process. I plan to purchase the books required in advance to get ahead in the readings since I will not be attending school this summer. What are everyone else's plans as we wait for classes to start in August???
Congrats congrats! I'm not taking any classes this summer either. I think I'm going to purchase the books earlier and get a head start also if I get a chance to. I'll have a newborn so let see how much I can handle first :) good luck with getting all your paperwork done!

I believe its the same book- I am going to purchase mines right now, and speak to an advisor to be sure I have everything in order for acceptance this August. On the BC website it shows in faq#10 -->

10. Can I prepare for the test? Yes. Preparation for the test should be inclusive of all the coursework you have taken at BC and/or other colleges and universities, plus any in-field experience. However, there is a review text, The HESI Evolve Reach Admission Assessment Test Review Text (ISBN: 978-1-4160-5635-5) that can be purchased at Broward College Book Store or through the Elsevier Publisher site Admission Assessment Exam Review 2nd edition| US Elsevier Health Bookshop

Oh thank you, I feel a little more confident now :)

Okay, Thank you so much for the information.

So the HESI review book at BC north was 39.99. I started my review right away. Does anyone know if we can use calculators on the test? Such as the basic one that normally shows on the computer.

There will be a basic calculator provided on the test screen.

Anyone have any tips on how to prepare for the physics section of the HESI, or any of the sections. I was wondering if we will be given these physics formula or will we need to memorise these....are there any websites that offer free practice test ?
