Hey FL nurses, I am moving back to FL from NC in February! I am already a Florida resident and have previously attended Indian River CC. However, Indian River is very difficult to get into and I would like to also apply to Brevard CC and PBCC for back up options... I will be graduating as an LPN in October, so I am interested in the LPN-ADN transition program. Has anyone attended either one of these schools for the ADN program or the transition program and have any comments/advice/information?? It would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks :)

never attended to those schools. but I did look up information on their websites when I was looking to get in to nursing school myself.

I just went to the website.

I'm starting PBCC's traditional ADN program this fall, just got the letter this week. I will be able to give you some real info once it starts, but it's supposed to be a really good program.

I know Brevard CC is pretty competitive too.

A few years ago when I was working on pre-reqs I was advised to apply to all programs within driving distance (from Orlando to Daytona to IRCC) and to still not expect to be accepted.

I'm now going back to finish up my last pre-reqs and my gen AA and apply to all the programs.

Good luck to you!

Actually I am in the BCC program right now. I have found it to be a great program, with few exceptions. The downside to it (you may consider it an upside) is that they will be going to online (hybrid) next accepted class Jan'09.

thanks for all the advice guys! i am also going to check out Kaiser in Melbourne and see what they offer for LPN's.

i spoke with someone at BCC and they said you have to have three years experience as an LPN to qualify for the hybrid program....

i think PBCC is going to be my best bet. JustinTJ... please keep in touch and let me know how the program is!!

How many students does Brevard Community College's Nursing Program accept each cycle?

I am aware that the Cocoa Campus starts in the Fall and the Palm Bay Campus starts in the Winter (January).

Thanks.:specs:

They take about 50-60 per semester per campus. Our class started with 54 students. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.

I just need to know a ball park figure. That is more than what I expected; however, I am aware it is competitive to get in.

Can anyone (preferably someone who has attended and really knows) give me a good estimate of what nursing school will cost at BCC? I got something from them about costs but it didn't include the costs for the actual classes!!
