Hi all...

I have no true purpose here, but to vent...I am from massachusetts and I came down for an interveiw on the west coast for a peds position...I asked the recruiter if they were serious about the possibility of hiring me and she has said yes...so on the plane I went. When I talked to her and scheduled the time, I had word open so i typed everything in - from the time to the address. I had written down 300...and when I got there I was told it was really 230 and I was late! Furthermore, there was another girl there for a 300 appt... I apoligised right away and she said it was fine. When it was all over she said I would be getting a follow up call on thurs...so I am thinking this wasnt a total waste...but it still sucks. I really want this position and am hoping i didnt screw myself totally over...but if I had they wouldn't say they would call me, right? maybe? and btw the manager of the unit wasnt there...so i dont know if she had left before I was supposed to be there or not...

arrrrggg!

I am also from Mass, and want a FL position, so I feel your pain! Hang in there! It is out of your hands, and what will be will be.....if it is meant to happen.it will......I hope it works out! Please check back and let us know! And stop stressing about it, cuz it is over, so hope for the best plan for the worst EVERYTHING happens for a reason, just keep thinking that!

Post-interview nerves!! The worst. Especially when you fly down for the interview. I know you are venting, but wait you must- it's in their hands. Try to relax, and I hope you get that call on Thursday!

I hate applying for jobs, interviewing and waiting....oh the waiting is the worst...I feel your pain.

I have had the recruiter schedule the wrong time on more than one occasion. Once, I even had the recruiter schedule an interview with someone who wasn't even in Florida, was actually in an office in Texas. Needless to say, I was not impressed and didn't return to interview with the actual FL person.

Just be sure you sent a thank you note to the person who interviewed you, thank her for her time, follow up with any questions you had, reiterate your interest in the position, ask for a call on the outcome of the position.

I got a letter yesterday dated the day after my interview saying the usual...thanks, no thanks, we appreciate your interest.

The interesting thing, however is that the letter I got was for their new grad program. I have been working for less than a year *(10 months) but a) that was not the position I applied for and b) even if it was, they dont do it in peds. I re-applied for another position because I was very impressed with what I saw...and also I am going to call on monday...so we'll see. I am big into the "if its meant to be it will be" line of thinking but it is hard becuase I had so much blood, sweat and tears invested in getting that job...

I'd follow up with HR on that rejection letter, make sure it was intended for you and not someone else. It gives you a good reason to call the recruiter, anyway.
