Not three years 3 straight semesters. If you dont get in for the fall August then you can apply again for spring Jan. If you dont get in then you have to apply for the following August.

I applied for both the LPN and RN tracks all three times that was 5 denial letters I received so don't get discouraged.

The last time I applied I received both letters the same day. First I opened the LPN and it was a denial. I couldnt believe it. I just ripped open the other very frustrated and it was an acceptance letter, so dont freak out if you receive a denial.

If you get accepted to the PHCC RN program here are two huge reccomendations that will help you succeed: 1. Use the CD that comes with the Funds book to practice and study for exams. 2. Do some internet research on how to master test taking in nursing and learn those key concepts. ie: look for keywords in questions and answers, etc.

Good Luck!

Ok. So I just got off the phone with PHCC Admissions and they said letters will go out by late June, early July. Little earlier than what I was told before, so that's nice!

This morning I received a response from PHCC via email regarding the expected time of the letters. The email read:
"We are very pleased to have received your inquiry. According to the information we have been given, the acceptance letters will be sent out the first or second week of July. The actual date depends on when the committee meets and unfortunately we have not been given a specific date. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. You may also call the Admissions office for further assistance at 727-816-3371 or toll free at 1-877-879-7422 ext. 3371."

I'm sorry to have yet another version, but I thought it was important to share.

Yeah, like I said, early July. I was told the first time I called, that it would be the 2nd or 3rd week of July, so this is good news!!

Actually it bad news. It doesnt give us much time for organizing finances. You have to reapply when your degree changes. Like from a AA to AS.

I'm with you RR. On a different note, I started a new thread on the Pre-Nursing Student Forum. I wanted to share some information I read from the admission package. You can find the thread by clicking the students tab and scroll down to Pre-Nursing Student Forum. I believe I tagged it under 1) student, 2) waiting, 3) PHCC, 4) acceptance, and 5) pre-nursing. Or search under the title "PHCC Pre-Nursing Student Excitement."

If I could rewrite the title, I would swap "Excitement" out for "Anxiety."

Okay, but why didnt you just ask those type of questions here. So everything is together on the same thread.Instead of scattering.

Anyways isnt it 24 students per campus? I hope its just not 24 for both.AArrgghh

Unhappy Re: PHCC Fall 09 nursing school hopefuls
I can see how it could be read 24 total, but that is not correct; they each have 24. As far as starting a new thread, it was not to confuse or complicate matters. On the contrary, it was meant to help everyone.

No biggie...I just didn't want to go back and forth. Its me not you.. LOL My brain is fried. I'm taking micro biology this summer and its a killer. I wish they had the RN at the north campus also. Do you have an idea about how many applicants. Another 24 would help. You would think the more students the more money.

I have no idea how many applicants. As for the concept more students = more money...you would think so. But my understanding is that the school gets funded (in addition to its tuition/fees) through outside agencies (area hospitals, organizations, etc.). The tuition of the students is not enough to cover the nursing program so they greatly depend upon endowement funds. These funds are limited; therefore, the amount of nursing students is limited.

In short, we are in serious competition because the program is good and the cost is inexpensive. Those who choose to pay higher tuitions at other area schools (and throughout the country for that matter) are paying their own way vs. being at the mercy of endowement monies.
