Incoming 1st Semester Students...

Don't worry about the online thing... if you are used to online classes. I am a 1st Semester student now (love online classes) and I am happy with my choice to do online Semester 1. I think it's all personal preference. My test grades are better than I expected and I have chosen to take Semester 2 online. And yes, I'm still nervous. But, there is lots of reading and not sitting in lecture is a big time saver!

Listen to Navygirl's advise... Get organized and start reading ASAP.

where did/is everyone get/getting their stethoscope? I browsed amazon for a bit and saw $8 to $50. I'm sure it's not the best resource, but that's still pretty crazy. I'll take a look at copy's, but I've heard they're overpriced, so any info is good.

same with shoes. I've only found some rather ugly ones.

I spent $80 but probably shouldn't have as I hear they have a tendency to disappear. Oh well, I wanted to start out with one I knew would work well. I didnt want to struggle to hear. However, if you havent been to copy's yet get your order in when you can!

Littmann. Let me know how you make out with copy's & NMS. Been to Copy's but Havent been to NMS yet. Dr. tomorrow for physical and blood work.

NMS wasn't bad. They require a good amount of urine, so make sure your bladder is full! But it's a nice looking place, not sketchy.

Copy's was cheaper than I thought it would be. I decided to get my stethoscope elsewhere, so I still have to get that. I've kinda been liking some Prestige, also saw my doc's nurse with one.

Congrats to all of you who got into the program. I'd like to know if there is someone applying for LPN. I just put all my papers in, and took all the tests. Now, I am waiting, hopefully they'll give good news

For those of you who got in the program, what were you're stats? I'm looking for a basis of comparison if you would like to share.

Hi Mrmedical, Not sure what the cut off for points was for Spring but if you look back a few pages I believe it was posted. The points are definately getting higher. Best chance to get in is scoring points over 27. Also points are always higher in Fall. Good luck.
