I actually emailed the nursing program coodinator last semester regarding the difference in the two classes. Unless something has changed since the college will soon be offering the BSN program she said that neither transfer and that 2140 had more physiology. Hey, thats gotta be a good thing anyway. The more you know the better nurse you will be. You probably made the right decision!

Hey everyone!! Ive been reading everyones posts but just registered so I could post back to everyone! Congratulations to all of those who were also accepted into LW's full time program and congratulations to all of those accepted to Belle Glade and part time programs!! To those who wernt accepted this time, keep trying!! you can do it! this semester seems like it had a high point cut off compared to previous semesters! I noticed in previous posts people going back and forth between taking first semester online or in class and was wondering who ended up taking it online? I too had a tough time deciding but i ended up registering for the online and to be honest Im kind of worried about it, but i know we all will do well as long as we work really hard. I was wondering who would be interesting in forming a study group? Also, how is everyone doing chipping away at these many tasks of completing the packet? Hope everyone is well and is having an excellent semester!

I did register for 1141 pharm didnt want to get into 2140 cuz 2140 4 papers to write, 1141 two papers to write. Neither transfer to the BSN level so I figure we are going to be crazy overloaded! Pharm is tough enough. Glad you took 1141!
At the nursing info session they said you must take 2140 if you want to transfer the FAU's BSN program. I am currently in online 2140 and find it to be an amazing class. People complain that it is hard, but all the info you are tested on is in the book and the power points. I am sure this will be the same for 1141. In the online class we had 2 papers and 2 case studies. The papers are only 2 pages in length. Case studies can be done in 30 minutes. I recommed getting your book asap as the first test is the first 12 chapters. It is alot of info but the easiest test of the semester.

I registered for evening clinicals, online lecture and Saturday skills lab. I had my drug test and backround check done on Wednesday and my titers done about 3 months ago. I See my Dr. on Wednesday for my physical. I am taking my CPR online with the skills session on the 14th. I plan on ordering my uniform and name badge next week. I am waiting on my stethoscope as I am asking for it as a christmas present from my inlaws. I feel good about my progress.

I am in semester 1 now. You will need the Fundamentals books, Ackley Nursing diagnosis handbook, lab and diagnostic tests book, and Tabers. So far, I have used all. I didn't buy the nutrition book and don't see a need for it yet. I would highly recommend all of those coming into first semester to get all of your folders, portfolio, etc done before you start class. The more you can do the better so you won't feel so disorganized. It is really stressful the first couple of weeks just trying to get organized and staying on top of everything. Best of luck!

What I mean by folders is just getting binders etc for each class. I printed out all of the power points in the beginning and organized them according to each test. It is a pain but it actually will save you time. Also, if you can read ahead that will help. The first couple of weeks are so crazy with frontloading (doing a bunch of skills in a short amount of time bed bath, vital signs, etc.) and trying to stay on top of your reading. Get a planner or use your phone's calendar and put in due dates for everything. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and start falling behind. I still feel like I am chasing my tail at times and can't seem to catch it.
