Opinions on St. Joe's Women's in Tampa

Hi guys,

I recently interviewed for a couple of positions in Tampa/St. Pete. Though Bayfront offerred the most in pay, I left with a better feeling about St. Joe's Women's. Has any of you or someone you know worked there? How did you like it? What didn't you like about it? I am really considering choosing them but would like to see some other people's thoughts first. I don't want to make a mistake. Hospitals put their best foot forward in their brochures and during interviews. Usually, only the locals know the real deal. I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

HI,
hope I am doing this correctly. I have been reading posts, but thought I would jump in on your question. I am a student and will be doing a rotation at St. Joe's. My instructors cannot say enough about this facility. They all say it is one of the best hospitals they have ever seen and they have about 25 years experience each. The reputation of this facility is fantastic.
Good luck!

My sister had both of her children there. It was a great expirence for her and for me. I was very impressed and it was after this that I decided to become a nurse.

I work at St. Joe's MAIN HOSPITAL as a PCT. I think it is an awesome place to work (although I cannot speak for the women's part). Just make sure to brush up on your Spanish if you do accept the position because this hospital is pretty much in the center of Tampa and you will have numerous Spanish speaking only patients. As a PCT, I have about 8-10 patients and one time, 4 of them did not speak English, and everyday I have at least one.
I personally will not work there once I graduate only because I like Pinellas county better than Hillsborough.
Good luck in your decision.
