LPN pay in Orlando

Just a question, what are entry level LPN's making in the Orlando area for LTC? If anyone knows what the pay is like in Lake County i would appreciate that too, as I might move back home (to LC) after I finish PN school. I know some of the prisons/county jails hire LPN's at 17-19 hr, but I have never read anywhere what the LTC rate of pay is.

I have been told it is around $16.50, however it is hard to find a job here. I have been looking for weeks.

Is that in Orlando? I don't really know a whole lot about the area as I live in Lake County and don't go up there that often. Thanks for the advice though.

any jobs for the county jails, will be listed under employment opportunities for the sheriff's office. i live in pinellas county. LPNs at our county jail start at $25/hr, plus great benefits and retirement. they are so desperate for LPNs that they actually have rolling marquees near the jail to advertise for it as well. may be worth the move a little west

Thanks FLg8r,
We were actually wanting to move over that way because my step-children live in St. Pete...but was told there was no work there. My husband is in construction & that is a real bad market to be in right now as well.

well, you're welcome, but i should have checked their website before posting that to you .... they were advertising it for the last month and must have filled their positions. not sure if you are intersted, but i checked federal government, which pays well too and they have some positions throughout florida.

here is a link for you if interested: usa jobs

Thanks again, I will check it out. I was also told that Pasco County Jails are hiring LPN's right now so I am going to see if I can find that out as well before I make a trip over there to apply.
