Has anyone worked for Maxim Nursing Services?

I have experience with pediatric home care, but am pretty new to Florida. Does Anyone know anything about working at Maxim for pediatric home health?

Thanks!

Do a search on this site for threads about Maxim. You can also find interesting info about Maxim in Florida at the forums section of the employment website www.indeed.com. You should investigate your employment opportunities thoroughly before you take a job with this company.

I have never worked for them, but have applied with them in the past. What I DO know, is that they are a very low paying agency. For example, I was working for one agency at a public school, getting $25 per hour (as an LPN). When I checked with Maxim for the same line of work, only closer to my house, they were offering $12 per hour. Another time, I contemplated doing flu shots with them, and was offered the same rate of $12 per hour. And the RNs were only getting $15 per hour.

Oh yes....I work for them. They are the lowest paying agency from what I have found. The people who handle the scheduling are extremely unorganized and seem to go week by week rather than other agencies who go month by month with their staff. They will take nurses off one case and put them somewhere else without notice and from what I have noticed/experienced myself they barely let the families know when they have coverage or not..so you never know when and if a nurse is working usually.....

What they said. This is a perfect example of why it pays more to a company in the long run to NOT put your best assets (nurses,of course!) on the chopping block to save in the short run. Your rep will be trashed. We don't work in a vacuum.

You should read the entries about this company in the forums of indeed.com. Even when adding the proverbial grain of salt one comes away with a bad taste in one's mouth. I used to praise them to no end when I was a happy little employee. After hearing what was done to me, no one in their right mind would want to put themselves at such risk for a job. Work for them if you are desperate. Move on at the first chance you get. Words to the wise.

Well, Cali, I just read one of the threads over at indeed.com, and it just about scorched my eyeballs off! It seems my office, by comparison, was one of the better ones! Thanks for link

Yeah. I found some of that stuff to be quite fascinating. Pretty bad when the internal employees have grounds for sexual harassment lawsuits or the accounts manager is found deceased in a 'toxic' state. I'm as interested in dirty laundry as much as the next person, but would be ashamed to tell others that I work for this company after all this.
