Hi! I'm an RN in St. Petersburg. Been in this area for 13 years, and have been employed at the same hospital for all of those years. I've worked in med-surg areas to include trauma, nureo and telemetry. The last ten years I've been doing charge nurse and in a couple of weeks am going back to being a floor nurse and will only do charge on a relief basis. I'll be going back to trauma med-surg!

I went to nursing school in Fayetteville North Carolina and got an ADN. I've been accepted into the RN to BSN program at St. Petersburg College, but am going to take a few co-reqs before I begin the nursing program.

I'm happily partnered for the last 7 1/2 years in a same-sex relationship, with two adorable loving Italian Greyhounds.

I am currently a Nurse Manager of a Nursing Home here in the Uk and have been for almost 11 years and feel I need a new challenge...lol

Married with 2 young boys (8 & 2)
Sue - great to hear from the UK!!!!!! You have a big move ahead of you, but I am sure you are excited and can't wait to get it going. How do your kids feel about moving to America? Are they as excited about it as you and your husband?

Good luck with your immigration paperwork, I am sure it is nothing less than a pain in the neck to sit and wait through all the red tape! Nice to have your post.

I have already started checking into the U of SF in Sarasota for their RN-MSN degree program.

Love South Florida and can't wait to move there.

Someone was talking about small town feel? Move to the Panhandle. Bakoodles of little small towns this way.
Congrats on your decision to go back to school and get your RN. I was like you in that I was an LPN for a long time and finally made the decision to go back and get my RN. It was a challenge to do, but with forditude and commitment, it has all paid off. Thank you for your response.

I have long admired your posts and have looked to you as a role model for me as I learned this board Tweety. It is a pleasure to moderate a forum that represents your home State. We have a lot in common, although it is reversed .... I went to school in Bradenton and moved to NC and you went to school in NC and moved to Florida. Interesting .... anyway, thanks for your post .... Good luck in school.

Hey everyone!

I have recently moved to the Orlando area after living in Maryland for the past 5 years. Just completed an ADN program up there and passed my boards this past May and I'm now working as an RN at Florida Hospital here in Orlando. The area is beautiful, and my partner and I just purchased a new condo that we've been working on for the past few weeks... can't wait till its fininshed! Great to meet everyone!!!

Darlene - how do you like Excelsior? Are you close to being finished? I had several friends that went through the program when it was Regents ... four of them passed the clinical weekend and one failed, but retested and past the next time. Good luck with your program.
