Re: Does anyone knows if a 3.29 GPA will make it to the fall nursing program?
u never know... you can still apply though. 3.29 is a really good gpa, but since there still is not enough room for more students to be accepted, most schools go strictly on gpa from a 4.0 down until they are full. You also have a chance of being waitlisted if someone does not show up or denies acceptance. I applied to several schools in 2007 and thought I was set for Nova because their gpa requirement was only a 2.75 and I had a 3.24. But, i didn't get in. After a few denials and one wait list that later became a denial, I started calling and speaking to the dean of nursing for a few colleges to ask what my chances of getting in were, the average gpa of those accepted and so on. I got tired of wasting money on application fees and it became very expensive. Say for instance, I called FSU, because their minimum was a 3.0, but when i talked to the dean, she told me that all students accepted the previous term had no lower than a 3.6

so, in my opinion, there was no reason for me to apply! However, i did get accepted somewhere I wasn't even considering, but it all worked out for the good. You will get in somewhere even though it may not be your first choice. Don't be discouraged! You'll be fine.
