Re: Anyone a new grad working at FLorida Hospital or Orlando Health?
erjunkie8, Thanks for your feedback! I completely agree that you must determine the organization you work for is the best fit for you.
I’d like to respond to your post. I believe the $13,500 contract you are referring to is the cost of training a Graduate Nurse for the Critical Care and ED internship program. In exchange for the education and training, it is required to work a 24-month employment contract at the end of the classroom training (generally 12-16 weeks for Critical Care and ED internships). The contract must be signed by the first month of classroom training to give GNs time to determine if Florida Hospital is the right fit for them. GNs that leave the organization prior to completing the 24-month period are subject to a pro-rated repayment. If, for any reason, a GN does not pass the classroom requirements, they will be liable for the contract. I believe the purpose of the contract is to ensure everyone makes the most of the training programs.
To clarify, Florida Hospital does force GNs into termination due to positions available only to experienced nurses.
