flying height

Hi there,
Out in the Midwest, helicopters don't have to fly too high, maybe only 1500 feet or so, but keep in mind out west there are 14,000 ft mountains. It also depends on weather, helicopters don't lift so well in hot muggy conditions, on the height of the surrounding terrain, and on the varying capabilities of different makes of helicopters. Also of course, the load makes a difference. Hope that helps some.
