The World Health Organization has begun a study on thrombosis associated with air travel. The original term I saw was Economy Class Syndrome in the press which claimed that thrombosis were due to the lack of space in economy class to move ones legs.
For further information go to the WHO web site
who.org and search under air-thrombosis.
That search will lead yot to the cardiovascular disease section where you may find more information.
I believe the original posting date was August 18.
