What are you doing besides looking for a job?

Hi all!

I graduated (ADN) in May, passed the NCLEX in June, and have been searching for a job since before school let out.

So far, no luck. I was wondering what you were all doing while waiting for that first job.

Me, I spend my mornings online, searching for and applying to jobs that interest me. Now, I'm packing to move back to my Mom's house (to save my dwindling funds). If I don't have a job lined up by the end of August, I'm planning on hitting the local LTC/SNF's in the area. It's not my ideal, but at least I'd be doing SOMETHING!

Also, has anyone joined the ANA or other organizations? Has anyone subscribed to any nursing mags? (which are the best?)

I'm also thinking about getting some business cards made up; you never know who you might run into!

Same here. I graduated in May, passed nclex in June and just recently got a call for an interview for Tuesday. It is for an internship on telemetry unit. I spend my days going online and applying for any internships, residencies, or RN I positions. Then I start researching and practicing for interviews. I am getting quite anxious and nervous and I want a job now! Best of luck to you!:nurse:

I graduated in May and passed the NCLEX yesterday! I'm on the computer half of the day looking for jobs. So far I've applied to over 300 positions and had several interviews. Nothing yet! When I'm not looking for jobs, I'm either working (as a PCT), going to the gym, hanging out, or doing arts & crafts.
