Tips for getting accepted into the RN program?

Hi, I am applying to the nursing program in January and was wondering if any of you have any tips or advice that would better my chances of getting in? I have gotten all A's so far for my pre-reqs and plan on keeping it that way. I have prior experience as a Medical assistant. Thank you!

It depends, what are the requirments to get into the program of your choice? Is it a points system or interview or a combination or what?

It is a point system. I am not sure if there is an interview. I haven't read anything about that in all the information they have. I will ask my adviser. I know once they pick the top 150%, those people have to do a proctored essay. I am just really nervous about my chances because RN programs are soooo competitive. I just kinda wanted to see what experiences other people had with applying and getting in. Like, did you have a 4.0 or how many points you ended up getting or whatever your circumstances were. Any info is helpful. Thank you for responding.

Im not sure about the community college I applied to Im still waiting to hear on my acceptance...Although the private school I applied to with a 3.21 GPA I didnt get into the RN program...not because of my GPA (they told me) but because of my NET exam.... I scored low on the reading portion (cause my first time taking it..ran out of time!! got an A in A&P ...I know I can read!! lol ) But I was accepted into Baptist LVN program...soooo at least If I dont get into the RN community college (cross your fingers for me) than Ill do the LNV-RN program at Baptist! (which by the way is $27,000 total!!ehhhh) hope that helps you a little!?
p.s my LVN pre req GPA was a 3.64... which apparently was good enough?

Everyone's standards are different. I suggest you sit down with the academic counselors of all of the schools you wish to apply to and ask them this same question with your unofficial transcripts in hand. That is your best way to get the best advice.
