Switching from Outpatient to Inpatient

  1. 0 Hi all! My first job offer out of school was at an outpatient chemo center (chemo nurse) associated with a large hospital. Does anybody have experience or advice about how difficult it may or may not be for me to move to inpatient if I finish my first year outpatient? What if I want to try to transfer to SICU instead of an oncology floor? I am worried I may box myself in by starting in an outpatient setting, though the hours are great. Any advice or comment would be greatly appreciated.

I think you will box yourself out of the job if you don't take the outpatient...if you want to transfer to inpatient---gain experience after a year ask can you transfer...but start with the available job offer then transfer...Good Luck
