Hello all. just reading different threads and wondering what does the starting salary look like for a grad nurse? i live the in Atlanta area so any ball park figure will do. thanks!

Hey,

I live in Ohio. I just started the interview process and so far I've been offered 22/hour plus benefits up to 26/hour plus benefits. I'm taking the latter one, plus they said they'd pay off my school loans!!

Every area is different. In FL, pretty much the bottom of the totem pole, lol, starting pay for new grads is between $18-$20/hr.

Here in Philadelphia GNs make upwards of $25 an hour

Last interview I went to I was offered $23.75 for days with an extra $2.50/hr for weekends. This is in southern NJ. Range in my area is anywhere from $23-$28/hr for new grads.

I'm starting at $30/hr here in Southern California. It really depends on the hospital and shift you choose to work. I've was also offered a new grad position starting at $23/hr, but obviously chose to go for $30 !

In New Orleans, its about $20/hr.

Again it depends on the location!

I think not only is it where you live that effects the salary but also how bad they really need us!

I'm in the Atlanta area.

Look for about $20-$21 base to start as an RN. I don't know about LPN salaries if that will be your title.

NC starts around 18-20/hr, plus shift and weekend diff. Plus benefits and a meek sign-on bonus (for 18 months committment). However, the cost of living here is cheap ($600 a NICE two bedroom apt), so it evens out to those who are making 30/hr and paying $1200/month rent. -A
