Question for each of you -

As a "graduate nurse", are you able to work in a hospital until you become licensed? Here in NC, we aren't able to practice (even as a "GN") until we are officially licensed. Someone from NC correct me if I am wrong? I'm trying to get my ATT so I can schedule that (*!$ test but I'm just waiting at the moment....it would be nice to be putting some of my knowledge to good use while I'm waiting!

Me too! Pinning was last night, and surprise! I received an award! I couldn't believe it- maybe I actually will be a good nurse...

My info was mailed out on the 23rd and I'm waiting for my ATT too. I start my job in 2 weeks and I really want to get the NCLEX done with!

It's all so exciting and scary too. I feel so... everything. I don't even know how to feel, but anyway- CONGRATS!!!!!

In CT I will work as a Graduate Nurse before I get my license, I think for up to 3 months but I could be wrong about that. In MA, where I went to school, you cannot work until you get your license.

As a GN in NH you can work with your temporary license for 120 days. The temp license costs 20 additional dollars. I am not waiting that long to take the boards though, I will take them in a week and 1/2.

Yes this is true but I have only heard of one hospital in NH who will hire GNs. Most of us have jobs contingent on passing boards. I take mine in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!! Congrats to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
