New RN Job

Hi all,
I am looking for a little advice from my fellow nurses. After having several bad experiences with my first RN job..I quit and they put me on the do not rehire list. I thought I would never be able to find another job because of that status. But 2 weeks later I found another job. This job (and pay) is awesome. My preceptor and all of the other nurses are great and are etremely helpful. the only problem is the nurse manager is extremely strict. He fusses A LOT and he reprimands publicly. Besides these things, the job is awesome. Everytime I pass him I shiver because he is sooo ice cold. I just try to do my job and not let that get to me but I constantly fear being reprimanded publicly or having him ask me a question that I dont know the answer to. Help guys..have any of you ever been in this situation and how did you handle it?
