NCLEX questions How many of yall were C students and still passed the test

  1. I am just wondering becaue I have seen many responses that if you are a C student you will not pass the NCLEX. At my nursing school the majority of the students are C student and we have a 99% passed rate. So I was just curious at how many passed being C students

There are plenty of people that make it through nursing school with a "C" average and do fine on the State Boards. There were many people in my class that held a "C" average. Not because they were not smart or because they did not apply themselves, it was because of their family obligations or the fact that they had to work to get through school. Having an "A" average is not the end all be all for nurses. Trust me on this one. I have worked with plenty of nurses that had straight "A's" in nursing school and some of them (making sure every see that I said some of them) make some pretty bad nurses.

Getting through boards is a matter of being able to prioritize your nursing care and translate that into a correct answer on the test. I would be more concerned about taking practice questions before taking the boards than anything else.

    I was a "C" student & passed...then I grew up & did considerably better in graduate school.

I was a "C" student and had to work my butt off to pass the NCLEX. I agree with what RNPATL said. It really is about prioritizing and answering the question correctly. Also there are no indications of passing or failing the NCLEX, there really isn't.

Doing practice questions really is a good idea if anything for the shere confidence of it. You know going in you've seen these types of questions before.

    Good Luck and,

we would have no nurses if only the "A" students passed the NCLEX. you must keep in mind that nursing school has a higher grade scale than other majors (at least here in chicago) and that alone will make a person have lower than normal GPA's. i entered a BSN program with a 3.75 GPA from a previous degree. when i graduated i had a 2.9. i passed my boards the first time. learn what you are supposed to while you are in school, study hard and the NCLEX won't be so intimidating. good luck

Most of the people I know pass regardless of grades. My class just happened to be the exception. But C students can and DO pass.

C students can pass the NCLEX as well as the A and B students.
