NCLEX Question!

The practice tests I'm doing have multiple correct answers....is NCLEX actually like that?! Those questions make me want to scream and cry....especially when I choose 3 correct answers, but not the 4th, and get the question WRONG.:crying2:

Yes! I know they are awful.. But if i can do it anyone can. I actually had several select all that apply. You will do fine!!

Dear friend,don't worry about that.When i have done practice questions i too felt like that.You have to be perfect with each diseases,because almost select all that apply comes from disease aspects,especially endocrine.And you understand RN,LPN duties,then drug calculation is uncommon i think ,then also you have to prepare for that.Nutrition is very important,medicines,its side effects etc.You can do it ,don't worry,have faith in God and prepare well.All the best.My prayers are with you.

Hang in there! I got a lot of select alls, but that has no bearing on your test. I would just remember that there can be 2 correct answers or 4. Select alls were my nemesis in school, I answered so many wrong! I got stuck on each question must have exactly 3 correct answers every time and that became a problem when sometimes it was 2 and sometimes 4. :D Alls well that ends well, I passed and that's all that matter.

I had alot of SATA questions and to me I thought the SATA on the NCLEX were actually pretty easy. I also had a lot of priority questions too and I thought those were actually harder! I passed on my first try. Hang in there! Good luck!

Unfortunately, it is true: there are SATA (select all that apply) questions on the NCLEX.

To rub salt in the wound, how many SATAs you will actually get on the NCLEX is a big mystery. I've seen people not get a single one on the test, and others whose test was mostly SATAs. Most people seem to be in the middle though and get around 10 or so. I had about 15 on mine (I finished in 75).

I would just remember that there can be 2 correct answers or 4.

Sorry to bear even more salt: just because a question is a SATA doesn't mean there must be two or more answers--it just means that one or more (even all) answers are correct. Most are 2 or more answers, but occasionally a SATA has only one answer. I know because I had some on a few of my practice NCLEX tests, as well as while taking tests in school :( Fun fun fun.

I got the Exam/Cram book which is put out by Pearson Vue, the people who make up the NCLEX. In it they explain exactly how to choose correct answers and I so wish I had read this before starting nursing school! There are too many hinys for me to list here, but most of them refer to looking for inconsistencies in the wording, looking for opposites, determiners, etc. Examples, "choose options that are related to maintaining life", ie always choose your ABC's first with airway always coming first. Look for subjective vs. objective assessment data and always choose the most objective. Look for opposite answers, or one that is different from the others. One of the opposites will be correct, and the different one will be as well.

Do not "read into" the question. If you find yourself saying "what if" stop and reread the stem of the question. Get the book, it's totally worth it. It also has a CD to practice with. Good luck.

I had about 10-15 SATA on the NCLEX, almost all of them I answered only had 1 answer, I think a couple had like 3.

75 Questions, 55 minutes, passed first run.

Just a clarification -- Pearson VUE administers the NCLEX, but has nothing to do with its content. The NCLEX content is created by the NCSBN.
