NCLEX-Feeling like I failed

HELP!!!! I took the NCLEX this morning and was there for an hour and twnety minutes, had 75 questions and it shut off. I wanted it to keep going because I was very unsure of how I did!!!!! I feel like I failed misrrably, and like it was all a blur. I thought I was extremely calm going into the test, but going through it I felt very unsure. Any words of advice on how to work through my thoughts? I am trying to stay positive, and to tell myself that I will just take it again if I failed, but this fear of the unknown is awful!!!!

I took mine in May and I felt the same way. It cut off at 76. I figured I did really good or really bad. I convinced myself that I failed. In my state, we can find out if we passed in 2 days. The first day, I sat around the house obsessing. It was an awful feeling. The second day, I got up early and went shopping ALL day. I didn't even think about NCLEX. When I got home, I got online and checked my results. And I PASSED! It is such a wonderful feeling.

What you're feeling is totally normal. Everyone in my class thought they failed. No one did (we still have 3 that haven't taken it though). So go do something fun and try not to think about it. I know it's easier said than done, but worrying about it really won't change the outcome. Good luck!;)

Keep busy and try not to think about it. What state are you in? Can you get quick results? Everyone thinks they failed when they finish.

I took the NCLEX 2 months ago & it clicked off at 80 questions. I thought I failed, questions were sooooo hard. In my state we can check results in 2 days & I did it online--I passed, thank God! I've never been so happy! Keep a positive attitude, I bet you did fine!

Thanks all for your support!!!!! I feel like I have shed enough tears for today so I am going to get myself together and go shopping........I will stay positive and let you know how it works out:) I can get the quick results so of course I will be checking tomorrow!!!!!!

I think everyone feels that way after taking that test. I took mine in June and felt the very same way. Many people I talk to have had the same feeling. Just stay busy and don't obsess over it, that's what I did and I drove myself crazy. Then I cried when I found out I passed!! Best of luck to you!! Let us know how it goes!!

You wanna talk about feeling like a failure? I got EVERY SINGLE QUESTION.......265! I was there for almost 6 hours taking my test. I didn't even make it to the elevator before I broke down crying.

Two days later I found out I had passed. It was the longest 2 days of my life.....

Well, have you found out yet if you passed? I hope it was good news. I had to wait 48 hours and they were the longest 48 hours of my life... I passed at 75 questions.

Same with me my NCLEX shut off at 75 and I thought I failed...I was so upset about it my mom thought I should go to the Dr. & get some Xanex...I found out I passed 2 days later & been smiling ever since...Just stay postive....

I don't know if this helps as I've never taken the NCLEX. I am still a Nursing Student. I have shadowed the CRNA group at my local hospital a few times and they told me that the fewer questions you get on your test that the better you do. The test is somewhat automated in the sense that if it sees you are getting almost every question right it cuts off at a low number, yet if you are borderline passing/failing it gives you more and more questions to try and give you a chance to pass it. Not trying to belittle anyone that got alot of questions, just passing along the information. If anyone had a low number of questions (80ish) and failed let me know and I will correct my statement.

I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I COULDN'T EVEN BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO RELIEVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS everyone for your support. It is so nice to know three are people out there who really understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :balloons:

COngratulations!
