NCLEX again

  1. OK. I took the NCLEX on Wednesday. I had to travel half way across my state for it to get a decent date. Anyway I am freaking out. I got all 265 questions and it took me 5 hours. I don't have a very good feeling about the exam. I think i had anxiety. I missed the simplest question about what to do in case of a fire( you know the RACE thing that gets drilled in our heads during orientations) Anyway I said to grab the extinguisher after resucuing the patient. OH well. Does anyone know about passing at 265 questions. I am reasoning to myself that I just yo-yo'd up and down throughout the exam. I am going crazy I find out Monday afternoon if I passed or not. Wish me luck.

I don't know if this will help, but a girl I work with had 265 questions and she passed. So it can be done!
    Best of luck to you!

One of my classmates went to 265 and he passed. I also met a nurse at orientation who did the same thing.

Hang in there and good luck. Lots of positive thoughts coming your way.

The way NCLEX works is that a certain number of people HAVE to take all of the questions. It verifys the test. I have known several people who took all 265 and passed.

Sometimes I wonder if it is better to have a test that shuts off when you pass/fail, rather than just taking the whole test.

I took boards over 17y ago, and it was a two day ordeal, followed by 8-10 weeks of waiting for results. It was stressful, but at least we didn't have to worry over how many questions we got....we all got the same amount.

I took my boards in May and I got a list of myths about the NCLEX one of them was that some people will get all 265 questions as a test of the test. Prometrics, the firm who used to do the testing states that "the computer will shut down as soon as it has enough information to determin if the tester meets the minimum standard for practice competancy, testers will answer only the number of questions necessary to make the determination, no tester will continue to recieve questions once the determination has been made." So the old story that some random person will get all 265 questions seems to be untrue.
