Re: How far do you work from home?
I drive about 30 miles each way, it takes me about 45 minutes to get to work. That's from getting in my car at home to punching in on my floor, which is a bit of a walk from the parking garage. And I usually stop for a soda on my way in.

There is a hospital about 10 minutes from my house, and the pay there is similar, but I choose to work where I do because the experience is great (there's no other neurology program like it anywhere in the region), I really like my co-workers, the benefits are fantastic, and it's a union shop, so I feel that my job and benefits are a little more protected than they would be elsewhere.
My husband drives about 45 miles to work, it takes him a full hour to get there, maybe a little less on weekends when he doesn't have to search the garage for a parking space. But he's a trauma junkie, and it's the only level 1 trauma ER in the area. So I guess it's all what you're looking for in a position. But I would definitely stick it out for a year, at least. Employers don't like to see "job-hopping" on a resume, especially for a new(ish) graduate! Just my
